Back in the 1960s, artist Kurt Schaffenberger was riding high as the artist of DC Comics' (then known as National Comics) Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane comic book.
He joined DC in 1957 and produced this as a "try-out" page:
I've seen this try-out page before, but have just learned (thanks to Arlen Schumer, Eytan Wronker and, especially, Mark Voger) for the information. It was from Voger's book, "Hero Gets Girl!: The Life and Art of Kurt Schaffenberger" (2003) that the owner of the artwork is none other than Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young was disclosed.
