One would not think that there are first-class eateries near places like Zion National Park in Utah, but there are.
Vogue magazine's website has posted an article on places in Utah that would delight foodies.
They begin it with:
Red sandstone cliffs are an image often associated with Utah—not artsy plating at the dinner table.
And yet when chef-couple Thomas King and Phu Nguyen—whose resumes include stints alongside Thomas Keller—sought to leave the all-night life of working in restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip, they found utopia in Springdale, Utah, near the gateway to Zion National Park. Nguyen handles desserts while King orchestrates the rest of the menu at their 18-month-old restaurant, King’s Landing Bistro. “I still can’t believe this is my backyard,” King says, gesturing out the window. He likes to ride his mountain bike in the morning and still get to the kitchen by noon. Before starting his Springdale chapter, King cooked at Public House inside the Venetian, and at restaurants inside the Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas before that.
Steps away from natural wonders like Zion National Park in Springdale and Cedar Breaks National Monument in Cedar City are restaurants that could hold their own in food-centric, and much larger, cities like San Francisco and New York. This part of Utah is also a rare pocket of the country where nature and noshing go hand in hand. They then provide "a few places you should know."
