Congressional Democrats Boycott Moment of Silence

The Looney Left Report

Congressional Democrats refused to participate in a moment of silence in memory of the people killed during the shooting attack in Las Vegas Sunday night. Instead, they prefer to play politics over the issue of gun control, despite the fact that there are still bodies on the ground at the fairgrounds in Las Vegas.

Fox News reported:
Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) refused to take part in a moment of silence for the victims of the largest mass shooting in U.S. history that occurred in Las Vegas Sunday night.
“Now is not a moment for silence; it's a time for action," the congressman tweeted.
Moulton was joined by Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA), who also boycotted.
Moulton took a shot at House Speaker Paul Ryan on Tuesday, telling him to "do your job" and vote on gun legislation, and that he is "letting America down."
He and several Democrats also refused to stand for a moment of silence for the victims of the June, 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida.

Just what legislation, pray tell, would have prevented the massacre in Las Vegas? Murder is already illegal and so is the possession of fully automatic weapons. There is The Firearm Owners' Protection Act of 1986 — banning the possession and transfer of new machine guns. However, the law exempts machine guns manufactured prior to May 19, 1986, as well as machine guns possessed by or manufactured for governmental entities. The weapons used in the attack appear to have been manufactured after 1986. The killer modified his weapons to be fully automatic, another illegal act.

This is just grand-standing.
