Where Is D.K.?

Above, D.K. sunning herself. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

It has been about five or six days since I last saw D.K. (Dee Kay or Deck Kitty), the daughter of P.K.(Porch Kitty).

Usually, she comes around to eat at my front porch several times a day, but I haven't seen her and the food has been almost untouched, except for when a yellow tiger car (I call Big Guy) and a black cat shows up. I think the black cat was from a litter of D.K.'s of last year.

D.K. is four years old, feral and was from the first litter that P.K. had when I moved here. P.K. disappeared about three years ago.

I hope she's all right.

Cats!

Above, the two gray cats having dinner. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

For the past several months, I've been feeding some stray cats. It began with a gray cat with a shredded left ear.

Then came a Siamese cat. Then it and the first cat disappeared. I suspect coyotes got them.

For the past several weeks, I've been feeding a gray cat with yellow eyes. Or so I thought.

It turns out that I've been feeding two gray cats who are exact lookalikes. I discovered this a few days ago. I suspect they may be siblings.

I hope that we don't get a batch of kittens this coming spring.

Morning Chill

Above, the feral cat to the right of the gate. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Well, the weather reports weren't kidding about it being cold last night and this morning.

I just got done feeding the feral cat outside and it is about 35°. It was a bit of a bite since I was just wearing my pajamas and yukata.

Today will be concentrated on getting ready for a little jaunt to Las Vegas. I'll be meeting up with friends there.

I'll be flying there instead of driving. I will be driving to Albuquerque to catch my flight.
