The Chief and Me

Rummaging around my old photo albums yesterday, I came across the above photo of former Los Angeles Police Department Chief of Police Ed Davis and myself at the Republican State Convention at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco. The photo was taken in 1978.

Davis went on to become a state senator in the San Fernando Valley. At the time the photo was taken, he was running for governor of California. The photo was taken in his convention hospitality suite.

Those were the days when we had (somewhat) a viable Republican Party in California. Now it is a virtual one-party state run by left-wing lunatics.

You do realize that this country had a budget surplus before Bush came into office, right ? a surplus created by the Democratic Clinton administration. in his 8 years, Bush and your party have managed to bring our country from prosperity to the brink of total financial meltdown. this is what they left to Obama's administration to fix. and now, people like you, who forgot what was going on in the last year of Bush's reign, and how scared you were about losing your savings, now you blame all that on the current administration, and not the one that caused it. these are facts. what is scary, is your stubborn unwillingness to care more about the country than you do about your party.

What does this have to do with this particular blog post? But since you decided to post a bunch of hogwash I will respond.

Clinton did NOT create the surplus. It was the Reagan economics that were put in place before Clinton entered office AND the Republican Congress that took over in 1996.

Bush had nothing to do with the mortgage meltdown that occurred in 2008. It was the policies of extending mortages to people who had no means to pay them off started by Jimmy Carter and expanded under Clinton, both Democrats. Additionally, the Bush Administration saw problems coming with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in 2002, but the Democrats in Congress led by Barney Frank and Maxine Waters in the House denounced the warnings as "racist" and did nothing about them claiming everything's fine. Although the crash happened during Bush's term, he had NOTHING to do with it. The Democrat Party owns this mess, and Obama made things worse with the excessive spending that raised the debt over $17 trillion. Sorry, those are the facts. Wonder why there was a massive trouncing in the 2010 elections and why Obama is in trouble now? You need to get your facts straight.
