Tokyo's Skytree is celebrating its third anniversary today.
The Mainichi Shimbun reported:
Tokyo Skytree, the world's tallest free-standing broadcasting tower, marked its third anniversary on May 22, with anniversary events at the Tokyo Solamachi restaurant and shopping complex and other locations in Tokyo Skytree Town attracting many tourists.
With an inexpensive yen attracting people to Japan, one out of every eight visitors to the 634-meter-tall Tokyo Skytree in the capital's Sumida Ward is now a foreign tourist. According to the tower's management firm, the number of foreign visitors last fiscal year jumped 42.7 percent from a year before. Asian visitors made up 58 percent of the total number of visitors from overseas.To read more, go here.
