It looks like the 2028 Olympics will be held in Los Angeles.
According to Condé Nast Traveler:
Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Olympics, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Although an announcement has not been made publicly, multiple sources have confirmed that the California city has reached a deal with the International Olympic Committee. Typically, just one location is decided at a time, but with only two volunteers in the running to host the upcoming Summer Olympics (following Budapest’s departure from the bidding process in February), the committee decided to allot one year to each of the top cities. This means that the 2024 summer Olympics will almost certainly be held in Paris.People fearing even worse gridlock should take a look at the 1984 Olympics that took place in Los Angeles. Work schedules were adjusted and some streets were made one-way. It was actually easier to drive around in L.A. during the week of the Olympics. I worked in mid-Wilshire during that time and going to and from work was a breeze.
I didn't attend any competitions, but I did go with a friend who carried the Olympic torch through the streets of Costa Mesa and went with a co-worker to the Olympic Village near the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and picked up some souvenirs.
