According to KQEN News Radio:
A new report from the National Park Service shows the region gets a big economic benefit from Crater Lake National Park.
Marsha McCabe says the report shows that 712,000 visitors to Crater Lake spent $59.9 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 981 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $80.6 million.
It is remarkable that Crater Lake did so well considering that the park was plagued by forest fires during the summer.
