Taking A Road Trip and States To Avoid

Above, camping next to the Colorado River near Moab, Utah. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

If one is planning a summer vacation road trip, some states are better than others.

That is the crux of a new article posted by KRQE (originated from KTLA in Los Angeles), an Albuquerque-based station. Minnesota came in first and Utah came in second for best states for road trips.

The article looks at cost as well as other factors the article was being researched.

They begin with:

(KTLA) – Going on a summer road trip is always a “fun” time – but new research suggests that some places may be better than others when it comes to packing up the car and hitting the road.

WalletHub, a personal finance company, recently released its 2026 Best and Worst States for Summer Road Trips report, which compared costs (including gas, car repairs, average hotel costs and others), safety and activity options to determine its ranking.

And what did those findings reveal? You may want to target the lakes and not the oceans.

California To Give Medi-Cal Coverage To All Illegals

It is no small wonder why there's an exodus of Californians fleeing the state.

The following is sure to make the already strained taxpayers not very happy.

From KTLA-TV:

For the first time, undocumented immigrants of all ages will qualify for Medi-Cal, California’s version of the federal government’s Medicaid program for low-income people.

The new guidelines will make California the only state to fund comprehensive health care for undocumented immigrants beginning Jan.1, 2024.

“This historic investment speaks to California’s commitment to health care as a human right,” Sen. MarĂa Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles) said in a statement.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced in May that a new budget deal with the Legislature included Medi-Cal expansion that would cover more undocumented adults.

The program expansion is expected to provide health coverage for about 700,000 undocumented residents between the ages of 26 and 49, according to Sen. Durazo.

The latest Medi-Cal expansion is expected to cost $2.6 billion annually.

Some $2 Bills May Be Worth Thousands

Above, first day of issue of the current $2.00 bill. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Some say that our currency is not worth the paper its printed on. Some say otherwise.

Then there are some currency paper bills which may be worth many times more than their face value. Such is the case with some $2.00 bills. I have several "first day of issue" $2.00 bills of the current version in use.

KTLA News has posted an article on some $2.00 bills that are worth thousands.

The reported:

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — It might be time to check those $2 bills you have lying around the house because some of them could be worth thousands.

First printed in 1862, the $2 bill is difficult to find, mostly because they’re hardly used. There have been several editions of the $2 bill, with the most recent version designed in 1963, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.

Some versions of the $2 bill have a portrait of Alexander Hamilton, America’s first secretary of the treasury. An 1869 redesign put Thomas Jefferson on the bill, according to the U.S. Treasury’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

Depending on which version of the bill you’ve got, it could be worth far more than just the $2 printed on the front and back.

California Gas Prices Hit Highest Average On Record

Above, this is cheaper than what gas prices are now in California. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

I have to thank my lucky stars that I got the heck out of Commiefornia (California, to those who are dense) in the nick of time almost four years ago.

Average gasoline prices in the state have hit a new record high. (Cue in Rita Coolidge's "All Time High".)

KTLA reported:

California gas prices hit an average price of $4.676 Sunday, setting the highest recorded average price for regular gasoline, according to AAA.

America’s largest state by population has the highest gas prices in the country. The national average dropped slightly to $3.413 Sunday.

Pretty soon, people will have to take out a second mortgage or get a co-signer in order to buy gasoline.

Biden and Media: Gaslighting Clowns

Gaslighting, technique of deception and psychological manipulation intended to make the victim dependent on the deceiver in thoughts or feelings. - Britannica.com.

There is more hypocrisy being presented by Biden and the media.

KTLA reported:

President-elect Joe Biden says it’s time for America to “unite” and to “heal.”

Biden said in a statement Saturday, “With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation.”

“We are the United States of America,” he wrote. “And there’s nothing we can’t do, if we do it together.”

Biden made no mention of his opponent, President Donald Trump, who has not conceded the race.

It is funny. The Democrats never accepted the results of the 2016 election and spent four years trying to undo that election with the Russian collusion hoax, Ukraine, impeachment and other chicanery. Now they and their media lapdogs expect this country to unite?! They're whistling in the wind!

While Biden is talking about "unity" and "healing", Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other leftist Democrats are promoting their "Trump Accountability Project" to identify and "punish" Trump supporters. That's right out of the Bolshevik playbook! That's going to promote "unity" and "healing"?

Former talk show host David Gold posted on Facebook:

Gold is right, we're being fed a bunch of nonsense by Biden and the media. Gaslighting is a favored technique of narcissists and totalitarian propaganda machines.
