Primm, Nevada: About To Become Tire Capital of the Southwest

Newsom Defends Tire Replacement Rules Amid Backlash

Thank God that I moved out of that crazy communist state eight and a half years ago. I knew before moving that Gavin Newsom would be the next governor (after Jerry Brown) and his notorious leftist politics.

Sure enough, California (i.e., Commiefornia) has gone to hell in a handbasket over the past eight years.

The latest in Commiefornia's quackery is the tire replacement regulations that the unelected California Energy Department unanimously voted for.

A firestorm erupted over this and, true to his usual modus operandi, Newsom is defending the new regulations by lying through his teeth.

According to the New York Post:

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday defended California’s controversial new tire rules, insisting the sweeping environmental regulations are a win for residents — even as critics warn they could leave drivers paying more.

Speaking at a press conference in the Bay Area, the Democratic governor touted the rules approved Monday that will phase out replacement tires that fail to meet the state’s new energy-efficiency standards.

The regulations are expected to affect roughly 70% of replacement tires currently on the market, potentially forcing Californians to shell out more for compliant rubber.

Newsom, however, brushed aside the backlash and argued the changes are ultimately good for the Golden State.

Maybe it's a good thing the Democrats did this now with the November election only two and a half months away. Vote out every damn Democrat!

Newsom Imports Expensive Gasoline From Bahamas

The Looney Left Report

It is becoming more and more evident that the California state government is run by lunatics.

The latest is from the American Energy Alliance:

This story is baffling. Bloomberg reports that California is starting to import gasoline from the Bahamas, while the state sits on enormous oil resources it refuses to develop. Bloomberg reports:

“US supplies of gasoline are being shipped out of the country to travel thousands of miles via the Bahamas before finally ending up in California, a state battling shrinking fuelmaking capacity and high pump prices. Shipments on the circuitous route are increasing. California imported more gasoline in November than ever before, with more than 40% coming from the Bahamas… After Phillips 66 shuttered its Los Angeles refinery in October, gasoline imports climbed in 2025 to the highest level since at least 2016. With Valero Energy Corp. set to close a Northern California refinery this spring, and no fuel pipelines connecting the US Gulf’s oil-producing powerhouse to the West Coast, the nation’s most populous state will likely depend on imports to bridge the gap.”

Only in Governor Newsom’s California does this make sense. The same governor who tried to ban the sale of new gasoline-powered cars by 2035 and has made it nearly impossible to develop new oil fields is now presiding over a state that needs gasoline shipped from the Bahamas because California can’t refine enough of its own fuel.

California Screws Arizona On Gasoline

Think California's gasoline crisis is confined to just California? Sorry, but it crosses state lines to Arizona (and Nevada).

You can thank Gov. Gavin Newsom and the leftist Democrats in the state's legislature for this. It is all their doing!

The video below explains it all:

Gas Stations and Refineries In California Shutting Down

Above, California's lizard Governor Gavin Newsom.

The Marxist Democrats who control the California state government are hell-bent on making the state so expensive that nobody wants to live there. I got out eight years ago.

Led by buffoon Gov. Gavin Newsom's government is causing oil companies to close up their refinery and gas station shops and leave. This will eventually cause the price of gasoline to skyrocket to $10-12 per gallon according to industry experts.

The Federalist blog (by friend and Clamper Gary Julian) posted an article on this.

To read it, go here.

The idiots who consistently vote for Democrats deserve this misery. This is what happens when you have a one-party state of Marxists.

Stupid Voters Have Spoken

Above, Zohran Mamdani.

Last night's election results were not much of a surprise. The only thing they show is that stupid people should not be allowed to vote.

In New York, Zohran Mamdani became the city's mayor-elect. An avowed socialist (some even go so far as to refer to him as a communist due to his past policy statements) will likely drive more people out. Well, those people who voted for him deserve the chaos he will bring to the city. Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an independent, never had a chance. He was damaged goods even before he entered the race.

In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom's Proposition 50 passed. No surprise there. California is essentially already a one-party state and there are enough idiots there to vote for the measure. Not much will change as a result, except the few remaining Republican members of congress are now in danger of getting Gerrymandered out of office.

It appears that the current government shutdown had little or no effect on the election.

The rest of us can sit back and watch the shit-show circus as it unfolds.

California's New Law Legalized Gun Confiscation — No Crime Required!

Moving out of Commiefornia in 2018 was the smartest thing I could have done.

Two years prior, I was served with a restraining order by a vindictive ex-girlfriend which included the order to turn over my firearms to either the police to a gun dealer.

I had to get an attorney and fight the order. I had plenty of evidence to prove that I had not contacted the ex and shown that I have actually avoided her. I was able to get my firearms back eventually. This was my introduction to a so-called "red flag law".

Now, the Commies in Commiefornia led by Gov. Gavin Newscum have a new gun confiscation law that is even worse for gun owners.

Gun News produced the following video discussing this new law.

Its summary:

California has taken its war on gun rights to a new level. Governor Gavin Newsom just signed Assembly Bill 1344, giving District Attorneys the power to confiscate firearms under expanded red-flag laws—even when no crime has been committed. In this video, I break down what AB 1344 really does, how it creates a dangerous precedent for due process, and why this so-called “pilot program” could spread nationwide.

We’ll expose the UC Davis Firearm Violence Research Center’s role, the counties involved, and how prosecutors can now strip citizens of their rights before trial. This isn’t about safety—it’s about control. Watch closely, because what starts in California rarely stays there.

California's Glock Ban Catches Immediate Lawsuit

Just as soon as California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law AB1127, which bans some Glock handguns, gun rights groups challenged the law's constitutionality and immediately filed suit.

As I am no longer a resident of California and don't own Glock pistols, I personally have no dog in this fight. But many people do own Glocks and reside in California.

Guns.com posted the following on the lawsuit:

Describing the state's wacky new ban on Glock and Glock-like pistols as "flagrantly unconstitutional," gun rights groups filed a federal lawsuit against the state of California on Monday.

The legal challenge, Jaymes v. Bonta, was brought by the Firearms Policy Coalition, the National Rifle Association, the Second Amendment Foundation, a licensed firearms retailer, and two individuals, against California Attorney General Rob Bonta in his official capacity.

The suit takes aim at AB 1127, which was passed by the Democrat-controlled state legislature and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Oct. 10. The new law, which becomes effective in July 2026 as California Penal Code § 27595(a), bans the sale or transfer of semi-automatic Glock and Glock-style handguns with cruciform trigger bars under the pretext that they can be illegally converted to full-auto machine pistols.

The groups challenge the ban on the contention that semiautomatic handguns with cruciform trigger bars are not different from any other type of semiautomatic handgun in a constitutionally relevant way, and that Glocks and Glock clones are among the most popular designs in modern firearms history, with millions in circulation since the 1980s.

Gavin Newsom Signs Glock Ban Bill Into Law

The People's Republic of Commiefornia took another anti-Second Amendment move.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill that will effectively ban some Glock pistols starting in 2026.

According to Concealed Nation:

SACRAMENTO, CA (3-minute read) — California has taken another firm step in reshaping its gun control landscape with Governor Gavin Newsom’s recent signing of Assembly Bill 1127. Starting July 1, 2026, this law will ban the sale of a wide range of semiautomatic pistols, particularly targeting those built with a “cruciform trigger bar” mechanism. While the bill doesn’t name specific manufacturers, the technical criteria clearly take aim at Glock pistols, including popular models like the G17 and G19.

UPDATE (10/12/25):

The National Rifle Association will be filing a lawsuit against this law. Stay tuned!

Vote "No" On California Prop. 50

On November 5, California voters will vote on Proposition 50, Gov. Gavin Newsom's scheme to take complete control of state government through Gerrymandering by politicians.

California is already a one-party state held by Democrats. If Proposition 50 passes, it will make Democrat power in California permanent.

From Reform California:

Top 5 Reasons to Vote NO on Prop 50:

1. Allows Politicians to Seize Power from Citizens

Hands the power back to politicians to rig the system by drawing districts safe for their cronies and guaranteeing their reelection. That’s not democracy — that’s entrenchment.

2. Permits Corrupt Backroom Deals

Eliminates public input and transparency by taking redistricting out of the public square, where more than 35,000 Californians participated in the last redistricting cycle, and hands it to politicians behind closed doors.

3. Eliminates Fair and Competitive Districts

Allows gerrymandering, which disproportionately harms communities of color, reduces competitive elections, and erodes accountability. Strips constitutional protections that currently ensure communities are kept whole and that maps are not drawn to favor political parties or incumbents.

4. Not Temporary — it Will Be Permanent

Even “temporarily” killing off a piece of democracy sets a dangerous precedent that could be used by future politicians to undermine constitutional safeguards.

5. Dishonest Ballot Title

Prop 50 is deceptively worded to suggest to voters that a YES vote would keep the citizens redistricting process when in fact a YES vote eliminates the citizens from the process and hands the power back to the politicians.

Answer to “What about Texas?”

Gerrymandering districts by politicians is NEVER ok – whether here, in Texas, or anywhere else. We believe Texas and all states should adopt California’s citizens’ independent redistricting model. But Newsom is using Texas as window dressing to give politicians what they always wanted – control of redistricting so they can gerrymander and that will end fair elections in our state.

Democrats, Newsom Hate Cracker Barrel Changes Too

"Politics makes strange bedfellows" it has been said.

Apparently, so does Cracker Barrel.

With the announced change in Cracker Barrel's logo and the remodeling of their restaurants to a brighter and bland decor, the Democrat Party and California Gov. Gavin Newsom weighed in.

They actually agree with the conservative detractors of the changes.

According to Fox News:

The Democratic Party and California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office's X accounts joined the backlash against Cracker Barrel after it released its new text-only logo earlier this week.

The company unveiled the new logo on Tuesday as part of its new branding campaign for the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurants. The campaign eliminated the image of a man resting on a barrel in favor of a text-only logo for the first time since 1977.

While conservative critics have piled on the new redesign, both the Democratic Party and the liberal governor’s media team put out tweets Thursday calling out the Tennessee-based restaurant chain for the change.

Will wonders ever cease? It must mean that the changes are so bad that they, too, don't like them. Welcome aboard!

Newsom Announces November Election To Gerrymander Lopsided California

The state of California is already a one-party state, much like China and North Korea. Now Gov. Gavin Newsom wants to make it even more so through a special election on November 4.

The Daily Caller reported:

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that a special election will be held on Nov. 4, in which Californians will vote on the “Election Rigging Response Act,” a ballot measure to implement a new partisan gerrymander of the state’s House map ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

The governor announced the election at a press conference on Thursday, which he dubbed “Liberation Day” in an apparent attempt to mirror President Donald Trump’s April 2 tariff announcement of the same name. Newsom told reporters after the conference the new gerrymandered map will be released in the next few days, and it aims to “completely neuter and neutralize” Texas’ mid-decade redistricting efforts — from which the GOP is likely to gain five House seats.

California, unlike Texas and some other Republican states, is unable to hold special legislative sessions to redraw maps as its voters entrusted the task of redrawing the state’s House lines to its Citizens Redistricting Commission in 2010, via a ballot initiative. For this reason, California voters need to approve another ballot initiative in order to greenlight a new map mid-decade — something not required in the other aforementioned states.

Despite its current map being drawn by a commission, California still boasts an overwhelming Democratic House  delegation, with Republicans representing only nine — 17% — of its 52 seats.

FireAid Hires Law Firm To Review Dispersal of Funds From Benefit Concert

Above, the famous Moonshadows restaurant before and after the fire.

It looks like those behind the FireAid benefit concert that raised over $100 million, purportedly to help those who were affected by the wildfires in January in Los Angles County, has hired a law firm to review the disbursements made. Many noted that organizations having nothing to do with the fires are getting the funds.

They have taken much criticism over the past few weeks by victims of the fires. They are also angry at the foot-dragging by Los Angeles and California officials over rebuilding permits. L.A. Mayor Karen Bass and Gov. Gavin Newsom had promised expedited permitting, but have failed to do so.

Variety posted an article on FireAid and it begins with:

FireAid has hired a law firm, Latham & Watkins, to review the dispersal of roughly $100 million in funds that were raised in conjunction with a massive benefit concert earlier this year, the charitable organization announced Monday. FireAid released a letter it sent to Rep. Kevin Kiley of California about the internal review, shortly after the congressman posted it on his X account.

Some congresspeople and journalists have hit the organization with questions in recent weeks about how the money was given out, with stories picking up particular traction among conservative-leaning news outlets. FireAid has every reason to take the skepticism seriously, as Kiley and others have brought their issues or questions to the attention of President Trump, who on Friday posted a message that began, “‘FireAid’ is a total disaster. Looks like another Democrat inspired scam.”

Court Strikes Down CA Ammo Background Check Law

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals struck down California's law requiring a background check for ammunition purchases, ruling that the law violated the Second Amendment.

CalMatters reported:

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals struck down California’s first-in-the-nation law requiring background checks for ammunition purchases, another blow to the state’s gun control framework that has been pared down, case by case, since the U.S. Supreme Court dramatically expanded gun rights in a monumental 2022 decision.

The California law that forced ammunition purchasers to pass a background check was passed by voters in 2016. Gov. Gavin Newsom, at the time the state’s lieutenant governor, championed the initiative and was its primary advocate.

In 2018, before the law went into effect, a group of gun rights advocates and ammunition vendors sued to block the law.

Newsom Dares Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan To Arrest Him

Gov. Gavin Newsom is daring border czar Tom Homan to arrest him over his response to the anti-ICE riots.

THAT I would like to see.

The New York Post reported:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom added fuel to the fire after daring President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan to arrest him for failing to crackdown on violent anti-ICE agitators in his state.

“Come after me. Arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy,” the defiant Democrat told NBC News on Sunday.

Newsom’s taunt came soon after Homan had warned that the governor and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass could both face federal charges for trying to thwart ICE raids throughout the city.

“I’ll say it about anybody,” Homan had said in a weekend interview as fiery scenes erupted throughout Los Angeles.

“You cross that line, it’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement doing their job.”

In response to the violence, Trump said he’d deploy 2,000 California National Guard troops to the city as federal immigration agents faced off against scores of anti-ICE protesters for a third day.

California’s Gas Prices Could Hit $8 Per Gallon

A few days ago, ABC7 posted the following on Facebook:

Gov. Gavin Newsom is demanding to know why California's gas prices are so much higher than the prices in other states.

The governor has tasked the attorney general with investigating why California drivers are paying as much as $1 more per gallon. Is it price gouging? Or something else? https://abc7.la/33OfIUf

For anyone who either lives (or lived) in California in recent years knows the answer. It is the one-party state government (i.e., Democrats) that over-regulated and over-taxed gasoline and oil in the state. Newsom should take a look in the mirror for his answer.

Now comes a new kicker, and this is from RV Travel:

Hold onto your wallets—California’s gas prices are on track to hit a jaw-dropping $8.44 per gallon by the end of 2026, and experts warn the financial aftershocks could slam Western states too. With two major refineries set to close and a tangle of new state regulations driving up costs, the Golden State’s gas crisis isn’t just a local headache—it’s shaping up to be a regional economic earthquake. The specter of $8 gasoline is enough to make a trip back East look downright inexpensive.

Now nearly $5… $8 gasoline could happen

The highest gas prices in the country are out West. California hits the top of the gauge with an average price per gallon of $4.78 as of Tuesday, May 6. But a new analysis says you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. With the shutdown of two of the state’s refineries in the offing, the findings point to the possibility of pump prices hitting $8.44 by the end of next year. But state lines won’t stop the pump pain—neighbors Nevada and Arizona may feel the big bite, too.

A study released by the University of Southern California took a look at the Golden State’s history of gas prices, its supply of oil, and the capacity of state refineries. It factored in the potential impact of closing two refineries (representing 20% of the state’s refining capacity), and took in the cost of fees and regulations. In the end, this study says $8 gasoline is likely.

Every time I see stories like the above, I have to thank my lucky stars that I moved out of Commiefornia just in the nick of time before Newsom took over. I've been living in New Mexico, where gasoline is under $3.00/gallon, for seven years. No regrets!

No wonder people are leaving the state.
