In-N-Out’s Billionaire Heiress Is Quitting California

One thing I miss about California is In-N-Out Burger (Original Tommy's is another). Fortunately, plans are underway to open In-N-Out restaurants in the Albuquerque area.

In-N-Out CEO Lynsi Snyder is leaving Commiefornia for redder pastures, namely, Tennessee.

Fortune reported:

Lynsi Snyder is a born and bred Californian, and makes no secret of her love for the state where her grandparents founded cult burger empire In-N-Out. But the CEO revealed she is leaving the Golden State for Tennessee, where the company is building a new eastern territory office, teasing a potential push to expand even further across the U.S.

Snyder took over the West Coast chain at the age of 27, following in the footsteps of her grandfather, father and uncle who led the business prior to her succession.

Having grown up in Northern California, Snyder recounted in a recent episode of the ‘Relatable’ podcast how she worked her way up the ranks of the business, from toiling away in stores to helping her grandmother with community work, to running the business’s merchandising branch.

Now at the helm of the business with a net worth of $7.3 billion, Snyder is expanding In-N-Out into new pastures and wants her family to benefit from the change too.

“There’s a lot of great things about California, but raising a family is not easy here. Doing business is not easy here. The bulk of our stores are still going to be here in California, but it will be wonderful having an office … growing out there.”

You can thank the Democrat Party in Commiefornia for the exodus of businesses and people fleeing the state. I left before it really started getting bad there.

Chevron Leaving California For Texas

California is losing another corporation to a more business-friendly state.

Chevron Oil is leaving the business-hostile state to Houston, Texas. They are blaming misguided radical liberal policies of the state government for the move.

SFGate posted:

“Houston is home to our largest U.S. employee base (approximately 7,000),” Stuart wrote in a statement. “Texas offers a business-friendly environment, a more affordable cost of living, and better proximity to key counterparts in the service sector, our industry and academia.”

Environmentalists have long blamed Chevron for contributing to climate change and pollution in California. In June, the Richmond City Council greenlighted a ballot measure that, if voters approve it, would add $1 of tax to each barrel of raw material processed at Chevron’s huge refinery there.

The Bay Area Council, a business-sponsored advocacy group, took Chevron’s announced headquarters move as a chance to blast California’s elected leaders.

“Chasing jobs and employers out of California is no way to run the economy,” Jim Wunderman, president of the group, wrote in a statement. “It’s an embarrassment for California that we’ve lost so many global companies because of misguided policies that make it incredibly difficult to do business here.”

Elon Musk’s SpaceX and X also recently announced plans to move their corporate headquarters from California to Texas, after building themselves into corporate giants on the West Coast.

Chevron’s ties with California run particularly deep. The company traces its history back to Pacific Coast Oil Co., which was founded in 1879 in San Francisco and joined another firm to create a California subsidiary of Standard Oil. That company found its first oil gusher in 1910 in Kern County, according to Chevron’s website, and grew its refinement and harvesting capabilities over the ensuing decades.

California To Give Medi-Cal Coverage To All Illegals

It is no small wonder why there's an exodus of Californians fleeing the state. 

The following is sure to make the already strained taxpayers not very happy. 

From KTLA-TV:

For the first time, undocumented immigrants of all ages will qualify for Medi-Cal, California’s version of the federal government’s Medicaid program for low-income people.

The new guidelines will make California the only state to fund comprehensive health care for undocumented immigrants beginning Jan.1, 2024.

 “This historic investment speaks to California’s commitment to health care as a human right,” Sen. María Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles) said in a statement.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced in May that a new budget deal with the Legislature included Medi-Cal expansion that would cover more undocumented adults.

The program expansion is expected to provide health coverage for about 700,000 undocumented residents between the ages of 26 and 49, according to Sen. Durazo.

The latest Medi-Cal expansion is expected to cost $2.6 billion annually.

New York, California Exodus Continues

People are continuing to flee radical liberal states like New York and California.

The exodus is due to leftist policies, oppressive taxes, over regulation, crime, high cost of living, outrageous gasoline prices and anti-business policies.

Americans are continuing to flee liberal states like New York and California for better home prices and taxes, but business experts warn the Biden economy is creating new problems for happy movers.  

VonFinch Capital founder and real estate investor Steven Pesavento said that during the pandemic, employees realized they no longer needed to live in the cities where they worked, which created new opportunities for a flexible lifestyle.

"It opened up an opportunity for them to get away from, you know, the high cost of living, the kind of oppressive civil policies and business policies, the high taxes, all of those things that they were willing to stay put over because it was what they needed for their job," Pesavento said.

California saw its first-ever population decline in 2020 when the state imposed rigid lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. From January 2020 to July 2022, the state lost well over half a million people, with the number of residents leaving surpassing those moving in by almost 700,000.

I knew what would happen to California when Gavin Newsom was elected governor. So I decided to get out and move to New Mexico five (almost six) years ago. I am glad I did and never looked back. New Mexico isn't perfect, but I am still happy I moved to where I did.

I've only been to Los Angeles once since I moved. It was for our high school 50th reunion a year ago. The visit reinforced my decision to leave in spades.

Poll: 4 In 10 Californians Considering Leaving State

The exodus out of California continues.

4 in 10 California residents are considering moving out of the state, according to a new poll.

The Los Angeles Times reported:

With its unmatched natural splendor and cultural attractions, California is a beacon that attracts people from around the world who put down roots and call it home.

About 70% of residents said they are happy living here, a new statewide poll shows, crediting the state’s diversity, economic opportunities and an enjoyable lifestyle as reasons to stick around.

Yet large swaths of residents are also considering packing up and leaving. Many also believe that the state is headed in the wrong direction, and are anxious about the direction of the economy and their ability to pay their bills.

The findings of a new poll from a consortium of local nonprofits aiming to take stock of the state’s mood point to a contradiction playing out across the Golden State: People are pleased by the bounty the country’s largest state had to offer and mostly favor its liberal attitudes on social issues, but are also far more concerned about their livelihoods than last year.

Since I moved from California to New Mexico five years ago, I have only been to Los Angeles once and I couldn't wait to return home to New Mexico.

Documentary: "Leaving California: The Untold Story"

California, once the "Golden State", is now a sh*thole and thousands of residents are fleeing the state. I left five years ago. I am glad I did without any regrets.

This is what happens when the radical Left Democrats have total control of the machinery of state government. It is essentially a one-party state that is destroying the state.

There is a new documentary that all people should see, especially those who are thinking of moving into California (or, as many of us know it, Commiefornia). It started streaming on April 21 on EpochTV.

California Loses Half Million Residents In Two Years

Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Democrat Party in California should be named salespersons of the year for U-Haul.

The once "Golden State" lost 500,000 residents during the past two years.

California's population fell by 500,000 people between April 2020 and July 2022 as residents fled the state in droves to find greener pastures.

Census data showed migration out of the state surpassed those coming into the state by more than 700,000 throughout the two-year period, according to the Los Angeles Times. California's major cities have been plagued with homelessness, crime and skyrocketing housing costs, causing many residents to flee to nearby states like Utah, Nevada and even Texas.

Despite the shrinkage, California remains the most populated U.S. state with some 38 million residents.

Californians who remain in the state are also likely to face frequent power outages and failures in the coming years as state leaders continue to push for renewable energy.

You can also add that people who are leaving are fed up with the radical left-wing politics of the Democrats who have a stranglehold on the state's government. It is a one-party state.

California Reaching The Point of "Taxuration"?

California, a.k.a. Commiefornia, is a one-party state (Democrats) thanks to the stupidity of the state's voters and other factors (such as its screwed-up primary election system and ballot harvesting, among other things). One could easily say that they got what they deserve.

But some would also say that the voters who didn't vote for the socialist Democrats don't deserve what's happening to their state and to themselves. But they could also vote with their feet (and moving vans) and get the hell out (as I did last year). If they are willing to remain in California, then they only have themselves to blame. No excuses.

Now, it looks as though the tax burden the Democrats have imposed on Californians have possibly reached the point of "taxuration".

According to an opinion piece in the Orange County Register by Jon Coupal, president of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association:

The phenomenon of “taxuration” occurs when taxpayers are so saturated with new tax-hike proposals that they start to rebel.  According to a new poll, taxuration may have finally arrived in California, if hasn’t been here already. 

Last week, the Public Policy Institute of California released the findings of a survey showing that a majority of likely voters in the state aren’t very happy with the tax burdens they are forced to pay. Most Californians say the state’s tax system is unfair, which is a reversal from the same question asked in March 2017. More importantly, a solid majority of likely voters in California think they pay more taxes to state and local governments than they should. 

While perception is often not correlated with reality, it appears that Californians have a fairly realistic understanding of the tax burden in the state relative to other states.  According to the report, “The public’s perceptions are somewhat in line with fiscal facts: California’s state and local tax collections per capita in 2015 were 10th-highest in the nation,” citing the left leaning Tax Policy Center.  Note that another think tank, the Tax Foundation, ranks California even higher in tax burden.

It shouldn’t be surprising to anyone paying attention that citizens are reaching the breaking point on tax hikes. Every day seems to bring a new big tax-hike proposal emanating from the state Capitol.  Just one example that popped up this week was a proposal to bring back California’s estate tax, which was repealed by voters in 1982. Other tax-hike proposals in the mix include higher income tax rates, a water tax, a soda tax, sales tax on services and a so-called “carbon intensity” tax.  (Don’t ask.)

There is no end in sight in California as long as the socialists (who call themselves Democrats) remain in power. They're trying to skew the national elections like they did in California by trying to modify (in their favor) or eliminate the Electoral College.

Unless Californians actually do revolt, the only recourse they have is to move out.

Majority of Californians Want To Get The Hell Out!

This does not come as a surprise to me. I saw it coming for a long time and I made my move a year ago.

A new poll reveals that 53% of California residents are considering leaving the Golden State because of the high cost of living. 

The “Trust Barometer” poll, by Edelman Intelligence, was conducted January 4-20 among 1,500 California residents, with a margin of error of 2.5%. A special oversample of 400 tech workers in the San Francisco Bay Area was also conducted, with a margin of error of 4.8%. 

The results are sobering. Nearly two-thirds, 62%, of respondents said they believed the best days of California were in the past.
