Greg Smith reported last evening that the (final draft) Kelsey Smith Act passed unanimously in both houses of the Kansas legislature:
The Kelsey Smith Act passed the Kansas Senate yesterday by a 40-0 vote. It passed the Kansas House today by a 125-0 vote. It is on its way to the governor!
It is too bad that this act was made necessary, common sense should have told Verizon to immediately provide the cell tower pings data to law enforcement.
Congratulations to Greg and Missey Smith for their hard work in getting the act through. States who don't have such a law should immediately enact one.
