"Life's That Way: A Memoir" by Jim Beaver

Actor ("Deadwood," "West Wing") and writer Jim Beaver has a new memoir out, Life's That Way. The book chronicles his life and events surrounding the illness and death of his wife Cecily Adams (she was the daughter of Get Smart star Don Adams).

Jim has issued the following announcement:

A special announcement from Jim Beaver:

Many of you are aware of the dramatic events that overtook my wife and daughter and myself in 2003-2004. What you may not be aware of is that, in hopes of creating something good and helpful and perhaps even inspiring out of those tragic times, I have written a book. It's entitled Life's That Way, and it will be published by Amy Einhorn Books/Putnam.

Life's That Way is based on an e-mail journal I wrote nightly during that year, something that started out as a newsletter to family and friends but grew into an exploration of the experience. Many of the recipients forwarded the e-mails to others, who then did the same, until over 4,000 people around the world were reading the entries each day. Life's That Way isn't just the story of hard times, but of an amazing journey through fear and sorrow into the realization of abundant gifts and the goodness of my fellow man that still astonishes me.

I hope you will join me on the journey and will encourage those you care about to do so as well. Life's That Way is available online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble and Borders. Please consider visiting your local independent bookstore, as independent stores need as much support as they can get (Visit IndieBound.org to find a store near you.)

From my family and me, many thanks.

Jim

Jim has also been working on a biography on the life and death of Adventures of Superman star George Reeves.
