It has been a while since I took a look at the exchange rate between the U.S. dollar and the Japanese yen.
Today's markets opened with the dollar firmer at ¥99.
According to Jiji Press:
Tokyo, Nov. 11 (Jiji Press)--The dollar held firm around 99 yen in Tokyo trading Monday after rising on stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs data for October released on Friday.At 5:00 P.M., the dollar was quoted at 98.96-99.00 yen in Tokyo.
The so-called "stronger-than-expected" jobs data is still anemic at 204,000. The U.S. should be doing much better than this.
