The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced revised numbers of foreign tourists who visited Japan in 2013.
According to the Asahi Shimbun:
The number of foreign visitors to Japan in 2013 soared by 24.0 percent from the previous year and exceeded the government’s target of 10 million for the first time, according to estimates.
Figures released by the Japan National Tourism Organization on Jan. 17 show that 10,364,000 people visited the nation for tourism, business or other purposes last year.Previously, it was announced that 11,250,000 foreign tourists visited Japan in 2013. The JNTO figure deducts the number of permanent residents from that total.
