Twenty-something years ago, my daughter Amber (and her friends) were faithful watchers of the Sailor Moon anime show.
The series ended around 1997 and my daughter got older.
She and other devotees of Sailor Moon will have a chance to "re-live those thrilling days of yesteryear" as new episodes of Sailor Moon will begin airing this summer.
According to Japan Today:
TOKYO —Sailor Moon is among the most well-known anime in the world. Since their debut two decades ago, the “magical girls” have spawned thousands of toys, live action dramas, video games and even a musical. Needless to say, the series has incredible staying power and is still held dear by fans all over the world.
Unfortunately, the last new Sailor Moon anime episode was broadcast in 1997, leaving fans wishing for more animated magical adventures for well over a decade and a half.
Fortunately, the long wait is nearly over.
On Friday, it was announced that the newest Sailor Moon series will debut in July of this year and will be broadcast world-wide via Niconico Douga, a Japanese video site somewhat similar to YouTube. To read more, go here.

I had fun back in the '90s making fun of the series. Great character design but a horrid little show nonetheless.
And those LOOOOONG transformation sequences. The bad guys missed a LOT of opportunities to "take them out" as it were.
Let's hope they don't "re-invent" the franchise beyond recognition. Just stick with the original character designs, while having better (Hopefully MUCH better!) dialogue and stories.
