A New Giant Monster Era? Etc.

The massive public awareness of giant monsters (or kaiju) generated in recent years by Cloverfield, Pacific Rim and, especially, the current Godzilla has done wonders in boosting sales of The Monster Movie Fan's Guide To Japan. Getting PayPal set up for print edition orders also was another contributing factor. The Amazon Kindle ebook sales shot up as well. It reached number 16 this past week in one Amazon category.

Could it be that we're in a new era of the giant monster (or daikaiju) genre movie?

With media attention focused on Godzilla, it presented an opportunity to me to expound on Japan's monster locations and landmarks with Godzilla's "Top Five Attack Locations In Tokyo" in an upcoming magazine's special feature on the "Big G." It was indeed an honor to be asked to contribute to the special feature.

Other opportunities to contribute presented themselves from different, and sometimes unexpected, sources. One of which was through a former associate of mine. All I'll say is, "thank you!"

Getting back to the magazine article, I received word yesterday that the issue is about to be produced:
We start production on that issue on Monday so will have edits and layouts ready for you after that.
When we get closer to the publication date, I will disclose more at that time. Stay tuned!
