We're now in a new month and it is time to see what the airfares between Los Angeles and Tokyo look like. They should be down since the holiday season is over in Japan.
The Los Angeles Times Travel section from yesterday's paper showed that the low end airfares between L.A. and Tokyo are at $824 and the high end fares are at $1,502. These are before any taxes and fees are added in.
Last month, fares were at $885 on the low end and $1,409 on the high end according to the Times. These, again, are before taxes and fees are added in. The high end prices went up and the low end prices went down since last month. It is virtually "a wash" price-wise.
I then checked with my favorite source for airline tickets, GatewayLAX, and this is the lowest airfare from L.A. to Tokyo (departing February 14 and returning on February 22) they found for non-stop round-trip flights. Again, these are before any taxes and fees are added in.
Unless there are drastic price changes between now and next month, the next report will be in March.
