Have you ever had to sit at an airport for more than four hours for your connecting flight? Well, people in Japan have a great idea to make those long waits rewarding ones.
According to NHK World News:
People in Japan will offer local sightseeing tours to foreign passengers enduring a long wait for connecting flights at Narita Airport near Tokyo.
Each year about 2.8 million foreign travelers use the airport as a transit point for international flights. A quarter of them spend more than 4 hours awaiting their connecting flights.
A council formed by Japan's transport ministry and local governments near the airport has decided to offer 5 sightseeing tours for transit passengers.So, instead of sitting and waiting bored stiff at the airport for a connecting flight, foreign passengers can take a tour starting later this month.
