During the past three years, Tokyo Tower had lost much of its lustre due to the opening of the much-taller Tokyo Skytree.

However, the operators of Tokyo Tower aren't just sitting on their hands. This week, a new attraction at Tokyo Tower has opened that should please hardcore anime fans and tourists to Japan in general.

According to the Asahi Shimbun:
Sporting a big smile and his straw hat, the pirate captain from the manga-anime series “One Piece” lit up the night sky from atop Tokyo Tower on March 12 to mark the opening of a new amusement facility there.
Illuminated images of Monkey D. Luffy, the popular franchise’s protagonist, along with his Straw Hat Pirates, were flashed from the tower's main observation deck to promote the next-day opening of the Tokyo One Piece Tower amusement park.
The facility's attractions start on the first floor with the rest of Tokyo Tower's attractions being on the third through fifth floors. Adult admission is 3,200 yen ($26.35) and children between 4 and 12 are admitted for 1,600 yen. Children under 4 are admitted free.
