The dollar fell in Tokyo trading today, which is not good news for Japan-bound travelers from the U.S. as they will actually get less than 100 yen per dollar traded in currency exhange.
Jiji Press reported:
Tokyo, July 1 (Jiji Press)--The dollar gave up early gains and fell to around 102.50 yen in Tokyo trading late Friday, dampened by position-adjustment selling ahead of the weekend.This may dampen any possible increases in tourism from the U.S. A strong yen makes goods and services more expensive for travelers.
