Those of you who want to see the Saikai Bridge that Rodan blew down, the Fukuoka Tower that Godzilla toppled over or the domed stadium that Gamera trashed, you may want to take advantage of the discount drive that the Japanese government and travel-related companies are spearheading to get more visitors to Kyushu.
According to the Chicago Tribune:
TOKYO - Travel agencies and air carriers in Japan have discounted their tour and flight fees for Kyushu as a measure to vitalize local tourism in the region's seven prefectures, which has slumped since the Kumamoto Earthquake.
Using government subsidies, a system has also been launched to encourage discounted travel in Kyushu, with campaigns expected to be more popular as the summer vacation season approaches.To read more, go here.
