The local communities around Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming benefited from visitor spending in 2017.
Most of the visitor spending went to hotels, restaurants, as well as gas, retail and recreation industries.
According to the Jackson Hole News & Guide:
Visitation to Grand Teton National Park supported 8,700 jobs and contributed more than $590 million to the local economy in 2017, a National Park Service report says.
That’s the impact of more than 3.3 million recreational visitors last year.
“It is a privilege to welcome visitors from around the world to share the spectacular natural and cultural resources of this iconic national park,” Grand Teton Superintendent David Vela said in a release. “National park tourism is a significant driver in the national economy, returning $10 for every $1 invested in the National Park Service, and it is a big factor in our local economy as well.”
