Lands Bill To Expand Joshua Tree and Death Valley National Parks

The U.S. Senate passed a massive lands bill. If it is enacted, it will expand Joshua Tree National Park and Death Valley National Park.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune:
The massive measure combines more than 100 public-lands bills that promote wilderness protection and open-space recreation opportunities, while restoring funding for maintaining parks and national monuments.
The bill permanently reauthorizes the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, which supports conservation and outdoor recreation projects across the country. The program expired last fall after Congress could not agree on language to extend it.
One bill in the package withdraws 370,000 acres in Montana and Washington state from mineral development.
The Senate approved the bill, 92-8, sending it to the House.
Closer to home, the Senate package includes passage of the Desert Protection and Recreation Act, authored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.
Feinstein’s bill adds 4,518 acres to Joshua Tree National Park in Twentynine Palms, and 35,292 acres to Death Valley National Park, including about 1,600 acres donated by the Mojave Desert Land Trust.

California's Third U.S. Senator, Martin Heinrich

At Diane Feinstein's command, Martin Heinrich voted NO on confirming Brett Kavanaugh.

Heinrich has shown that he will blindly vote for the radical left's agenda. We need a senator that will work with our president and fight for New Mexico's values, not aim to turn our beautiful state into a second California.

In his nine years in Congress, with infrequent visits back to New Mexico, Martin Heinrich has proved that he is good at creating photo opportunities. He has proved that he can listen to people’s heartaches, walk away, and do nothing. He has voted more than 94 percent of the time with California’s senators, which is why he has earned the nickname, ‘California’s Third Senator.’ He has proved he will sacrifice New Mexicans’ safety and security to advance his own political career.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Evidence Against Christine Blasey Ford Mounts

Evidence against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's accuser Christine Blasey Ford is mounting.

Her story stinks worse than a seafood restaurant. This is all a bunch of B.S.

First, she has been a leftist activist opposing President Trump's immigration policies.

From Heavy.com:
Christine Ford – whose full name is Christine Blasey Ford – signed a letter with other health professionals demanding that President Donald Trump stop his controversial policy on family separations at the border. She signed the letter as Christine Blasey, and it was used as an exhibit in an ACLU lawsuit against the Trump administration.
Second, she also marched wearing a knitted "brain cap" to a science march that was designed to look like the pink pussy hats to protest against President Trump.

Third, it appears that she has a personal vendetta against Brett Kavanaugh.

Kurt Schlichter posted on Twitter the following:
I checked the Montgomery County docket. Brett Kavanaugh's mother was the judge on a house foreclosure case that appears to be the accuser's parents.
I don't buy any of it.

Even Professor Ford's students don't like her.

From David Gold:
Christine Ford "Rate My Professor" quotes from her students:
"dark personality"
"avoid any interaction with this person"
"has something wrong with her"
"lacks appropriate filters"
"I am honestly scared of her"
"she is exact opposite of what she teaches"

Whatever respect for Senator Dianne Feinstein I may have had is completely gone after her little last minute stunt.

Judge Kavanaugh has spoken out:
This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes—to her or to anyone. Because this never happened, I had no idea who was making this accusation until she identified herself yesterday.

Free Entry At Grand Canyon On Earth Day

Above, a view of the Grand Canyon from Hermit's Rest. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Each time I hear "Earth Day" uttered, I can't help thinking about California Senator Dianne Feinstein's pronunciation of earth as "urff" and laugh.

One nice thing about Earth Day, people do get some benefits out of the observance. Such is the case with Grand Canyon National Park.

The Arizona Daily Sun reported:
Grand Canyon National Park invites the public to celebrate the 48th anniversary of Earth Day during National Park Week fee-free day on Saturday, April 21. Visitors can participate in Grand Canyon's Earth Day celebration at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center Plaza near Mather Point from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All Earth Day activities are free and open to the public.
This year's Earth Day celebration will feature displays with information about current park conservation efforts and initiatives including water conservation, waste, recycling, composting, dark skies, smart transportation and biofuels.

Bump Stocks

Above, a bump stock.

Las Vegas killer Stephen Paddock apparently used an aftermarket device called a "bump-stock" or "bump fire stock" to convert his semi-automatic weapons into simulating fully automatic weapons. The carnage of last Sunday night is a testament as to the device's effectiveness.

CNSNews.com posted:
(CNSNews.com) - On June 7, 2010 -- about a year and a half into the Barack Obama administration -- the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives issued an opinion letter, giving the go-ahead to an after-market accessory that allows the user to “bump fire” a semi-automatic rifle.
A company called Slide Fire had earlier sent its patented replacement shoulder stock to ATF’s Firearms Technology Branch, asking for an evaluation of the device.
The ATF, in reply, wrote: “Your letter advises that the stock (referenced in this reply as a ‘bump stock’) is intended to assist persons whose hands have limited mobility to ‘bump fire’ an AR-15 type rifle.”
The device replaces the factory stock and grip. The replacement stock moves back and forth with the gun's recoil, allowing it to fire rapidly and continuously as the trigger repeatedly is bumped into the shooter’s finger. A switch allows the user to select semi-automatic fire (one shot for each trigger pull) or the more rapid “bump fire.”
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said on Tuesday that she intends to introduce legislation to close what she calls the “automatic weapon loophole,” and some Republicans have indicated they may be open to the idea of banning after-market devices that allow semi-automatic weapons to simulate automatic fire.

This is one time I am coming down on the side of the liberals. I, too, think that bump stocks should be banned. They are unnecessary for civilian use. It is incredible that Barack Obama's administration approved such a device.

Feinstein's "Assault Weapons Ban of 2013"

Sen. Dianne Feinstein has introduced her 2013 "Assault Weapons Ban."

The Daily Caller posted the list:

WASHINGTON — California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein staged a dramatic press conference Thursday on Capitol Hill with 10 weapons at her side and unveiled legislation instituting a government ban on more than 150 types of firearms, including rifles, pistols and shotguns.

It should be noted that Feinstein admitted in 1995 that she had a concealed carry permit.

Go to hell, Dianne Feinstein!

Michael Reagan Considering Senate Bid In 2012

Left, Michael Reagan and Armand in 1977.

California U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein is reportedly having weak favorable ratings in the polls. This is leading to speculation on a possible GOP challenger in next year's elections.

Her support for President Obama's policies is the main factor.

Michael Reagan, the eldest son of former President Ronald Reagan, is reportedly considering a bid to unseat Feinstein.

According to SFGate.com:

One Republican who is considering a run is Michael Reagan. "Yes," he said in an e-mail to The Chronicle Thursday, "but can't talk about it now." Reagan, who has never held public office, declined to respond to further questions.

If Reagan decides to run he would have my full support without question.

Cap and Tax Bill Barely Passes House; Fight Moves To Senate

Obama and Pelosi's job-killing and highest tax hike in history, the Waxman-Markey Energy Tax/cap-and-trade bill, squeaked by in the House yesterday by a vote of 219 for and 212 against.

8 RINO Republicans (mainly from the northeast, but Mary Bono-Mack of Palm Springs also voted for it) joined the Democrats in voting for it. 44 Democrats joined (a thank-you to those Democrats!) the rest of the Republicans in voting against it.

My brain-dead congressman, Brad Sherman (left), also voted for it. No surprise there. But I plan to make his life miserable.

Now the fight goes over to the U.S. Senate. I doubt we'll make any headway in persuading California's two radical liberal senators, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein, to vote against it. Still, you must contact your U.S. senator and urge them to vote no. This is a bad piece of legislation, especially now that we are in this current economic mess.

Don't forget to vote against those who voted for this!
