Xochitl Torres Small Proves To Be An Anti-Gun Leftist

Above, Rep. Xochitl Torres Small.

Back on October 12, I posted a blog about Xochitl Torres Small  and her phony ad featuring her out bird-hunting in a field wearing tight-fitting jeans and carrying a shotgun. I wrote then that this was all a ruse to bamboozle New Mexico voters in the 2nd Congressional District. To read that blog, go here.

It turns out (no surprise!) that I was right.

The New Mexico Shooting Sports Association posted the following today:
Every Sheriff in Congressional District 2, but one, has opposed criminalizing private firearm sales. Nearly every county commission in the district has passed a resolution opposing criminalizing private firearm sales as well. Despite the overwhelming opposition from her district, Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small voted today for the same gun control her district is fighting against in Santa Fe. This is a betrayal of the values of the district, and exposes her true character as a puppet of Nancy Pelosi.
Unfortunately, she won the election with slick campaign ads paid for by outside liberal groups.

Sadly, this is a case of, "See? I told you so!"

Guest Article: The Total Collapse of the California GOP

by Gary Julian

So Goes California
So Goes America

Immigration changes California

The Middle Class is telling the GOP to take a hike

  • In district after district after district, well-off middle class California voters are rejecting the Republicans and sending Democrats to Congress.
  • The California Republican Party is sinking fast.  In time that will make GOP control of the House of Representatives almost impossible.

Thank open borders and a pathetic and ball-less California GOP that stands for and does next to nothings.

Statewide Races

The GOP could not even manage to run candidates for U.S. Senate or Lt. Governor.  The party lost all other statewide races by landslide numbers.

State Legislature

There are now 2/3s plus super majorities in both the State Senate and the State Assembly.

U.S. Congress

For Congressional seats the total collapse of the GOP can be seen.

Some 65% of California voters supported Leftists. Republicans are down to only 8 seats in the entire state.  In 7 districts the GOP did not even bother to run candidates.

GOP Weakness

The California GOP is so weak that in 3 districts it was Democrat vs Green Party with no Republican on the November ballot at all.

A One-Party State

45 Democrat Congressmen
Only 8 Republicans
GOP Congressional seats are colored pink to represent the cowardly pussy Republicans who are frightened to death to do anything about anything. The dark blue seats are the GOP seats that went Democrat.

Republican Palm Springs
is now Democrat

Not that long ago you could drive from Santa Barbara on the California coast to Los Angeles to Palm Springs and the Arizona border and virtually never leave a Republican Congressional District.  Now almost every single seat is held by Leftist Democrats.
.
Republicans are losing solid middle class seats.  The GOP not being able to win over the middle class means the party will become extinct.

Two talk show heavyweights will be joining President Trump at an election eve rally in Missouri.

The Hill reported:

VP Pence will be in Roswell THIS Friday for a FREE get out the vote event at the Stewart Industries Hanger at the Roswell Airport. Doors open at 1 PM and the event kicks off at 3 PM.

Too bad Roswell is 300 miles away. I doubt aliens, illegal or otherwise, will be attending.

Mick Rich Reaffirms Appearance At Steve Bannon Event in Roswell

Mick Rich Reaffirms Appearance
At Steve Bannon Event in Roswell

ROSWELL, NM, Oct. 18, 2018 – Despite Democratic Party calls for him to cancel his appearance and apologize, Mick Rich, Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, reaffirmed his appearance at a Steve Bannon film showing and speech at the Hi-Q Venue in Roswell today from 4-7pm.
"Steve Bannon is a global thought leader for economic populism," Rich said. "At tonight's event, he will show his most recent film, "Trump at War," which explores the radical left's opposition to our duly elected President.
"Mr. Bannon is anti-elitist, as am I," Rich continued. "So it's no surprise that the party of my opponent, Sen. Martin Heinrich, hates Steve Bannon. Martin Heinrich has become a Washington elitist.
"I will be the voice for New Mexico's hard-working taxpayers," Rich said. "It's time for New Mexicans to rise up against the elites and send a hard hat to Washington."
Admission to the event is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

New Mexico U.S. Senate Debate

Last night, I watched the debate between the three U.S. Senate candidates for New Mexico on KOAT-TV (with a bowl of popcorn). Taking part were Senator Martin Heinrich (Democrat), contractor Mick Rich (Republican) and ex-Governor Gary Johnson (Libertarian). It was also broadcast on C-SPAN.

Unlike the article in the Albuquerque Journal (a debate co-sponsor), I didn't find it all that "rollicking". But they did recount what transpired pretty well.

My impressions of the debate were that Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson came off buffoonish. Some may wonder, "Is he on drugs or something?" At one point he responded to Sen. Heinrick with "B.S." and later used the term "screwed". I cannot recall anyone using such terms in a debate in my 40+ years in politics. I had to wonder if Johnson was always like that and how did he get elected and re-elected as governor.

This is the first campaign for Mick Rich and I thought he could have used some (or more) pre-debate coaching. This was probably his first debate as a candidate. He is a good man (I met him in Gallup at a townhall meeting a few months ago) and easily my preferred candidate. He did manage to get his points in, but his delivery of such could have been stronger (I thought he was too polite). He needed this debate so break out of the pack so voters could take notice of him. I don't know if he accomplished that.

Sen. Heinrich came off too smooth to the point that he seemed wooden standing there like a mannequin. The only times he seemed to come alive were when Johnson came after him. When the others stated that Heinrich was for open borders, he didn't refute it. Will it hurt him? Who knows?

The format for the debate worked pretty well (considering it was in a one-hour time slot) so that all three candidates had plenty and equal time to give their positions and question each other. There were no commercials during the hour, which was good.

Was there a winner? I would say no, it was pretty even for all three. None delivered any knock-out punches.

Martin Heinrich's Big Pharma Money-Grubbing

When New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich and other Democrats say they want lower cost medical care, including pharmaceuticals, keep the chart above in mind.

They are all money-grubbers from Big Pharma and voted against cheaper medicines for us ordinary folk.

How else can Martin Heinrich pay for those nice sugary-sweet television ads?

New Mexico's Answer To John Edwards

New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich, the new "Breck Girl".

California's Third U.S. Senator, Martin Heinrich

At Diane Feinstein's command, Martin Heinrich voted NO on confirming Brett Kavanaugh.

Heinrich has shown that he will blindly vote for the radical left's agenda. We need a senator that will work with our president and fight for New Mexico's values, not aim to turn our beautiful state into a second California.

In his nine years in Congress, with infrequent visits back to New Mexico, Martin Heinrich has proved that he is good at creating photo opportunities. He has proved that he can listen to people’s heartaches, walk away, and do nothing. He has voted more than 94 percent of the time with California’s senators, which is why he has earned the nickname, ‘California’s Third Senator.’ He has proved he will sacrifice New Mexicans’ safety and security to advance his own political career.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Loop Ranch Boss Running for Kern County Supervisor

Above, a creek flows at the Loop Ranch. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

An interesting email from Platrix No, 2, E Clampus Vitus arrived in my mailbox a little while ago.

It announced that the "boss" of the Loop Ranch in Kern County is running for County Supervisor. I don't know if he's a Republican or Democrat (this is a non-partisan office, by the way), but he's been kind enough to allow Platrix to camp at his ranch in Keene.

It said:

Platrix Urges Brethren to Contribute to Campaign

Our Loop Ranch boss is running for County Supervisor in next month's November elections. Let's thank him for letting Platrix have an open invitation to use The Loop for our treks! There is less than one month to go and he would delighted by any contribution you can make.
Dal Bunn is running for a seat on the Kern County Board of Supervisors in next month's November elections and is is running a grassroots kind of campaign as "An everyday Joe, not a pro". Every dollar counts!
Platrix cannot contribute, but individuals can and we are urging brethren of Platrix to send a check to Dal's campaign. Please donate what you can up to the personal or corporate limit of $500... any amount will be warmly welcomed.

Martin Heinrich, Hypocrite!

First Heinrich voted no to confirm Neil Gorsuch, now he is going to vote no on confirming Kavanaugh. New Mexico deserves better than a Senator who is so blinded by partisanship, he cannot even vote for qualified judges. - Mick Rich for Senate.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, Oct. 6, 2018 – Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, Mick Rich, issued the following statement about Martin Heinrich's vote against Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh:

"Immediately after President Trump announced Judge Kavanaugh's nomination, Martin Heinrich pledged to vote against him. He did not wait to hear a single word of testimony. He did not deliberate. He did not contemplate. If President Trump is for it, Senator Heinrich is against it. He is a Washington politician who votes however Chuck Schumer tells him – whether or not it is good for our state and nation.

"Years ago, Martin Heinrich quit listening the hard-working taxpayers of New Mexico. It is time for him to go."

Newt Gingrich: Texas Special Election A Blueprint For GOP

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has penned an opinion piece on the upcoming November elections for Fox News.

The Republicans in Texas won a special election in a district that has not seen an elected Republican in almost 140 years. It is a victory that Gingrich suggests the GOP should take a good, hard look at.

He wrote:
I have been writing a lot about the power of a big-choice election in November.
This week, Texas Republicans won a special election for a state Senate seat in a district along the Mexican border. Every Republican campaign in the country should study this race carefully.
You may not have read about this GOP victory, because the liberal national media is not exactly excited to report that Republicans reclaimed a seat they had not held in 139 years. The liberal media is especially shy about reporting on a Republican victory in a district that Hillary Clinton carried by nearly 12 points in the 2016 presidential election.
From the left’s standpoint, this victory is even more frightening because the district is 73 percent African-American and Hispanic.
Furthermore, at a time when people are touting gigantic Democratic voter turnout and lagging Republican participation, this special election runoff had twice as many voters as the last Texas state Senate special election runoff in February 2015.

SOCORRO COUNTY COMMISSIONER GLEN DUGGINS ENDORSES STEVE PEARCE

September 24, 2018

ALBUQUERQUE—Socorro County Commissioner Glen Duggins today endorsed Steve Pearce for Governor following a false claim last week by Michelle Lujan Grisham that he had endorsed her.

“I’d like to clear something up: I fully support Steve Pearce for Governor. It’s disappointing that Michelle Lujan Grisham chose to mislead voters by including my name in a list of endorsements without my agreement or permission. Steve Pearce is the only candidate in this race who will create jobs, fix education, solve poverty, and tackle crime. That’s why I’m proud to publicly endorse him today for Governor of New Mexico,” said Duggins.

“New Mexico voters deserve honesty from their Governor, not somebody who makes up fake endorsements. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s dishonesty is disqualifying. If she misleads New Mexicans about something like this, what else is she lying about?” added Pearce campaign manager Paul Smith.
