Before heading out on the road in an RV, it is best to check everything, inside and out, first. This is to ensure that the journey will be as trouble-free as possible.

Digital Journal posted an article on what to check. This applies specifically to trailers, but some of the things to check also can apply to motorhomes.

The pandemic has changed many things in people's lives. Travel is just one of them.

Camping has become the go-to means of travel, especially with RVs. Boondocking, or dry camping, is rising in popularity. Self-contained RVs are designed for boondocking.

Prices, along with demand, are going up for vacations involving plane fares, hotels and attractions. Going on vacation in a RV may be more of a fit for your budget.

Most RV rental companies offer housekeeping packages (dishes, pots, pans, bed linens, etc.) for a fee, or you can bring your own. Even if you’re driving or towing an RV for the first time, features like automatic transmissions, power steering, large external mirrors and rearview cameras make it easy for inexperienced drivers to adjust to the difference in size, height and weight.

Marcus Lemonis Indicative of A "Snowflake CEO"

About a couple of weeks ago (just before I headed off to Idaho to see the eclipse), Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis inferred that Trump supporters not shop at his Camping World stores. This caused a public outcry (including one from a prominent NASCAR driver who cancelled a $150,000 RV order at Camping World) which led to an apology by Lemonis.

This has led to a sharp response by one of Lemonis's competitors.

Yosemite's Hetch Hetchy Valley Dam Lawsuit Gets Tossed

The only dam built in a U.S. national park will not be torn down.

Digital Journal.com reported:

Sonora - A California state court has dismissed a lawsuit that sought to compel officials to tear down a nearly 100-year-old dam in Yosemite National Park that supplies power and water to millions in San Francisco and the Central Valley. 

Tuolumne County Superior Court Judge Kevin Seibert decided that the 1913 Raker Act, which authorized construction of the O'Shaughnessy Dam in the Hetch Hetchy Valley on the Tuolomne River, precluded any state efforts to remove the dam and that an Oakland, Calif., nonprofit group that brought the suit had filed it decades too late.

It had been said that Yosemite's Hetch Hetchy Valley was even more picturesque than Yosemite Valley. It looks like we won't get the chance to see if that's true.
