Hillary's Hollywood Sheeple Begin To Mobilize

Oh, great. Like a over-played or over-shown re-run, we get to see a 66-year-old Hillary Clinton run again for president in 2016, if the sheeple in Hollywood have their way.

According to The Hollywood Reporter:
It's back to the future for Hollywood's Democratic activists, many of whom are convinced that former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will run again for president and are lining up to show support.
As Clinton, 66, was in New York on Sept. 21 for the annual Clinton Global Initiative gathering, the leading pro-Clinton super PAC held an event for more than 70 supporters at the Pacific Palisades home of producer Howard Gordon and wife Cambria. The event was organized by the Ready for Hillary super PAC, which bills itself as a group "encouraging" Clinton to run while laying the financial "groundwork" for a campaign. Several of those at the gathering, co-hosted by producer Ryan Murphy and husband David Miller, told THR that they believe Clinton likely will declare her candidacy soon after the November midterm elections.
This will be an interesting campaign as there are those on the far-left fringe totally unhappy with Hillary Clinton. She now has as sordid record as Barack Obama's secretary of state who screwed up on Benghazi and the subsequent cover-up (including the memorable, "What difference does it make?!").

Hollywood Left Choking Their Own Industry

It boggles the mind that the left-wingers in Hollywood are in support of the Democrats' plans for higher taxes on businesses and individuals making over $200,000 (and families making over $250,000) when enormous taxes are already driving corporations out of California.

These irrational tax policies, by the Democrat-controlled state government, are killing jobs in California.  They are also killing jobs in their own industry.  Of the 23 new television dramas, only two are being shot in Hollywood, according to an article in Los Angeles Times.  Studios are going to states where there are better tax breaks.

How does the Hollywood Left reconcile advocating higher taxes in California, while at the same time, those tax policies are killing jobs and driving business out?  It is killing jobs in the catering industry, prop workers, make-up artists and production support positions in the industry.   Naturally, the Hollywood Left (like most leftists) don't think things through, they just act on emotion or "feelings."

Rational people, who see the situation where less money is to be made in the state, will opt out of the state.  The state's tax policies are driving businesses (and jobs) out and the over-generous entitlement programs are attracting the parasites.  In a nutshell, the makers are leaving and the takers are coming in.   How is this sustainable over the long term?

It is total lunacy.

California used to be the "land of opportunity."  Not anymore.

The Left Can't Take Their Own Medicine

The Huffington Post Tweeted this message over on Twitter:

The "anti-Obama group" that the Post is referring to is Grassfire Nation.  I received an email from them and reproduced parts of it in this blog post, and included the phone numbers they're whining about.

My attitude is this, the Left has harassed and threatened donors supporting conservative candidates and causes for quite some time.  It is time that they received some of their own medicine.

Grassfire Nation asked people to contact the donors of Priorities USA Action to complain about their support of the Super Pac that put out the lying ad that basically called Mitt Romney a murderer.

If these Hollywood big-shots can't take the heat for financing lies and smears, then they should get out of the kitchen.

Hollywood: Who Gives A Sh*t What It Thinks?

The Hollywood Reporter Tweeted that the selection of Rep. Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's VP running mate will "galvanize" Hollywood liberals into supporting Barack Obama with more fervor.

My response:

Who gives a shit what "Hollywood" thinks? The industry has been out of step from Mainstream America for decades!

The Hollywood elites will vote for Obama no matter who Romney runs with.

Susan Boyle & Janeane Garofalo: Which One's Really Ugly?

An excellent article was posted today at the Big Hollywood blog on the differences between Susan Boyle and Janeane Garofalo.

You should read it as it proves the old saying: Beauty is only skin-deep, but ugly goes right to the bone.

Angie Harmon Is Not A Racist For Opposing Obama

Actress Angie Harmon has been attacked by Obama supporters (or drones) for not supporting Obama. Many have accused her of being 'racist'.

Pop Tarts over at FoxNews.com reported:

"Here's my problem with this, I'm just going to come out and say it. If I have anything to say against Obama it's not because I'm a racist, it's because I don't like what he's doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you're called a racist," Harmon said at last Thursday’s Los Angeles launch of a new eyelash-growing formula, Latisse.

"But it has nothing to do with it, I don’t care what color he is. I’m just not crazy about what he's doing and I heard all about this, and he’s gonna do that and change and change, so okay … I'm still dressing for a recession over here buddy and we've got unemployment at an all-time high and that was his number one thing and that's the thing I really don't appreciate. If I'm going to disagree with my President, that doesn't make me a racist. If I was to disagree with W, that doesn't make me racist. It has nothing to do with it, it is ridiculous."

It is a rare thing these days for Hollywood celebrities to come out politically with positions that are opposite of that the prevailing political thinking is, especially by someone of a new generation of celebrity. It is grossly unfair to disagree with someone and be labeled a racist for doing so.

Hollywood has long been a hotbed of liberal/leftist politics. There are some liberals who do, on occasion, tell the truth. Last year, Hollywood liberal Alec Baldwin hit the ceiling when Wall Street melted down. Only he directed his ire at the Democrats in Congress, particularly at Rep. Barney Frank and Sen. Christopher Dodd for being instrumental in the problems of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with their subprime mortgage loans.

In my view, celebrities' political views shouldn't carry any more weight than does the political positions of the boxgirls at the local supermarket. But due to their celebrity status and easy access to the media, they spout their political views as their first amendment right. It doesn't really matter that some of these celebrities don't know what in blazes they're talking about. They are simply taking advantage of an audience.

Really, who cares what Hollywood libs Debra Messing or Mandy Moore think? (Except, maybe, for a good laugh, perhaps.) Or even Angie Harmon? Despite disagreements, each has the right to express their opinions.

But it takes real political courage for someone to go against the Hollywood grain. Many have had their careers suffer as a result. So a big kudos to Angie Harmon!

Big Hollywood Added To Blog List

If you take a gander at my blog list, you will note that Big Hollywood, the latest online venture from Andrew Breitbart, has been added. Breitbart was a co-creator of the Huffington Post (I wouldn't brag about that), and he had a long-term editorial relationship with the Drudge Report, one of the most visited websites on the Internet.

Mr. Breitbart will try to redress Hollywood’s liberal bias. His site uses the “group blog” model and has already attracted plenty of offerings from conservative Hollywood thinkers. Mr. Breitbart feels conservatives in Hollywood are unfairly marginalised because of their views.

“There are people out there who have been ignored by Hollywood. The mainstream media – and Hollywood is complicit in this – has created an intellectual status quo,” says Breitbart.

Pay a visit to Big Hollywood, I think you'll enjoy reading it.

Movie Industry Hospital and Nursing Home To Close

Movie Industry Hospital and Nursing Home To Close

The Motion Picture & Television Fund says financial problems will force it to shut facilities for aging entertainers in Woodland Hills by year's end.

The Motion Picture & Television Fund said today that financial problems would force the industry charity to close a hospital and nursing home it operates in Woodland Hills for aging entertainers by year's end.

The fund said it would expand its existing network of community-based care and would relocate about 100 patients to area nursing homes. The fund said 290 workers would lose jobs in the closures.

The decision "reflects some sobering economic realities that are affecting healthcare institutions nationwide," David Tillman, fund chief executive, said in a statement. "With costs skyrocketing and government reimbursement declining, operating our own acute-care and long-term-care facility is draining our resources at an alarming rate."

DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg, chairman of the Motion Picture & Television Fund Foundation Board, said the organization had no choice.

"Although we are in good shape today," he said, "the acute-care hospital and long-term-care facility are generating operating deficits that could bankrupt MPTF in a very few years."

The organization said the nursing home transfers would begin in 60 days. The hospital will operate until later this year, the fund said.

The closures will not affect about 185 residents of fund independent-living and assisted-living facilities and six area health centers that serve about 60,000 industry workers.

The fund said that the hospital and nursing home had been running an operating deficit of $10 million a year and projected that to rise in coming years.

Today's announcement comes as hospitals across the state and nation are struggling with economic and financial problems. Dozens of hospitals in California have shut down in the last decade, and hospital industry experts say more are likely.

While the Hollywood elites are busy climbing all over themselves trying to get choice tickets to The Messiah's Inauguration events next week, an important asset to the community is falling by the wayside. Instead of worrying about being at The Messiah's shindig, going to Europe or the Bahamas, the Hollywood elites should chip in and keep the hospital going. They may need it themselves someday.
