Mark Levin: "Last Night’s Debate"

Commentator Mark Levin posted his thoughts on last night's debate on Facebook. As usual, he's right on target.

In its entirety:

 As I reflect on last night’s debate, Biden pulled the same stunts on the president as he pulled on Paul Ryan eight years earlier, but Trump would have none of it.

Biden was making faces, rolling his eyes, interrupting the president with laughs and jabs, and was long-winded, which the moderator allowed to a ridiculous level. He was also allowed much longer opportunities uninterrupted by the moderator to speak, which Biden used to hurl one nasty lie after another. The president is a counter-puncher and often was forced to try to muscle his way in to address Biden’s list of attacks as he wasn’t given opportunities to reply.

The moderator’s liberal bias was obvious in the nature of many of the questions, as was his dislike of the president when he’d get into arguments with the president over policy while mostly letting Biden get away with whoppers.

The moderator knows the governors shutdown the economy not the president, the moderator knows the president didn’t kill over 200,000 Americans, the moderator knows Antifa is a real group, the moderator knows that the “science” of man-made climate change is in dispute, etc., but it seemed like none and certainly little of his correcting or challenging was aimed at Biden or, even worse, he’d insert his views into the questioning and follow up. If he was truly interested in tax returns, why did he ignore Biden’s use of an S-1 corporation to get around paying over half a million dollars in payroll taxes, including Social Security, or mention that the New York Times article itself states that Trump paid approximately $24 million in the alternative minimum tax. If you’re going to bring it up, then get it right.

Unlike most commentators I’m reading this morning, who either declare a plague on all their houses or are more critical of the president than Biden, I see it differently. Biden’s strategy was as a disrupter who was prepared with memorized attack lines and falsehoods, which he rattled off like a machine gun. Biden's handlers figured such a debate — going from hiding in the basement and limiting press availability to a debate brawl — would continue to protect Biden from real scrutiny for his past record and his current embrace of truly extremist policies as set forth in his 110-page manifesto. Biden’s obvious strategy, plus the moderator’s predictable approach, was infuriating.

ObamaCare To Be Repealed First

Well, they've finally on the same page regarding ObamaCare.

President Trump, Vice President Pence, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have officially done it: they’ve all called for a full repeal of Obamacare. 

Following the announcement by Sens. Jerry Moran (R-KS) and Mike Lee (R-UT) that they will oppose the GOP healthcare bill as it currently stands, Trump, Pence, and McConnell must have decided to spring into action.

It is frustrating to see Democrats get 95% of their agenda items funded under a Republican President and Congress, especially after the last election. They're acting like scared rabbits (again) if the Democrats force a government shutdown, fearing that they would be blamed.

It is also frustrating to see namby-pamby leaders like Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan put roadblocks in front of the Trump agenda items.

Well, at least we have Vice President Mike Pence getting asked the tough questions by Rush Limbaugh, as he did today.

An excerpt:

RUSH: If this is what happens, Mr. Vice President, why vote Republican? What is the point of voting Republican if the Democrats are gonna continue to win practically 95% of their objectives, such as in this last budget deal? 

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, look, respectfully, Rush, I actually think this was, as the president said a little a while ago, I think this was actually a clear win for the American people. Look, you’ve had Washington, D.C., that has been, you know, paralyzed by gridlock and partisan infighting for many years, and in this new president you have someone who was able to bring people together and make a $21 billion increase in defense spending at a time of great challenge for America’s interests around the world. And that’s a — you know, he spoke about that today, surrounded by a lot of great members of the United States Air Force. And it was also a piece for years, Democrats in Washington insisted that any increase in defense spending would be matched with an increase in domestic spending. 

So you gotta grow government at home if you’re gonna, you know, invest in our national defense. This ended that. I mean, in a very real sense this was a game-changer because we’re just back to putting the safety, security, and the national defense of the American people first, and I think it sends, having just traveled around the Asian-Pacific representing the president over the last couple of weeks, I think this sends a decisive message to the world that under President Trump’s leadership we’re gonna make the strongest military in history even stronger. 

RUSH: If I’m the Democrats, $21 billion, 15 billion for defense that was not originally authorized, that’s a small price to pay for continuing to fund refugee resettlement, continuing to fund Planned Parenthood, continuing to fund sanctuary cities, continuing to fund the EPA, and not build the wall. The Democrats clearly think this is a big win, and they’re confident they can block Trump’s agenda after this spending bill for the rest of Trump’s term. There isn’t anything of the president’s agenda in this budget, and people are beginning to ask, when’s that gonna happen? If you’re gonna shut it down in September, why not now? 

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yeah. 

RUSH: If you complain about 60 votes today, why not go budget reconciliation for 51 votes and smoke ’em?

The GOP Civil War

We are less than a month away from a very important election. Yet, the candy-ass traitors of the Republican Party such as House Speaker Paul Ryan, Sen. John McCain and others would rather risk an all-out civil war within the party instead of being team players to defeat Hillary Clinton.

I have been politically active for over 44 years and never have I ever seen such disgraceful displays of party disunity in my life.

Right now, my positions in this are:

If Trump loses and we lose one or both houses of congress, conservatives should leave the GOP and re-register Democrat and take over that party to make it a Jeffersonian party again. Or,

Leave the GOP and after, hopefully, conservative leaders form a new party, I will join it. I've had enough with the establishment GOP leadership.

There has to be a major sea change within the next few days for me to remain in the Republican Party.

The 11-year-old recordings of Trump is nothing but a phony excuse by the establishment to undermine his candidacy. The real reason? They want Trump to lose, because if he wins, there will be a major shake-up in Washington, D.C. (go to the link below for the Rush Limbaugh Show).

We have a country to save, assholes!

Donald Trump and the Self-Righteous Prigs

It is amazing at how the so-called Republican "leaders" such as Senator John McCain, House Speaker Paul Ryan and others are distancing themselves from Donald Trump.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said this morning they and others should re-think all this. Trump is running for president, not Pope.

These lily-livered "leaders" should be subjected to primary challenges during the next election cycles and defeated. Screw 'em!

For years, as Rush Limbaugh pointed out this morning, the Republican establishment has been complaining about and trying to drive out those of the "religious right" from the Republican Party while claiming that their issues such as morality and abortion are "non-winners". Now that they got what they got what they wanted in Donald Trump, they are heading for the tall grasses. These self-righteous prigs are showing their hypocrisy for all to see.

The left-wing Democrat Party is likewise showing their hypocrisy. They have been clamoring for a secular, non-moral nation and defended their "rapist-in-chief" Bill Clinton for actions (including those while he was president) that makes the locker-room talk of Donald Trump of eleven years ago greatly pale in comparison. Suddenly, they pile on Trump. Their indignation is totally bogus.

Remember those anti-Palin t-shirts from 2008? This ought to jog your memory:

In a column at P J Media titled, "America, You Have No Right To Judge Donald Trump", D. C. McAllister put it best:

From the moment the tapes were made public, the drumbeat to Trump's personal walk of shame began. Politicians who formerly endorsed him fled in terror, not wanting the soiled stain of sexual stigma attached to them. NeverTrumpers descended in holier-than-thou glee as they declared how noble and right they've always been not to support such a despicable man. And the left has been howling like puritanical wolves, condemning him for his immorality and sexist treatment of women. 

I find this reaction to Trump's private conversation rather ironic. It's ironic coming from a secular culture that long ago declared objective morality dead. It's ironic coming from politicos and media bottom-feeders who defended the abusive and disgusting behavior of Bill Clinton, not when he was a private citizen but when he was a sitting president.

GOP Leadership Traitors Have Sold Us Down The River

It is no wonder the Republican base and like-minded independents are furious, the GOP House leadership that is led by House Speaker Paul Ryan has stabbed everyone in the back. Again.

Obama got everything he wanted in the spending bill. Obamacare: fully funded. Planned Parenthood: fully funded. Sanctuary Cities: fully funded. And the list goes on and on. What's the difference between John Boehner and Paul Ryan? Absolutely nothing.

Rush Limbaugh had a great monologue on this. He nailed it!

He began with:

RUSH: The country was just sold down the river again by your very Republican Party.  

I have a headline here from the Washington Times:  "White House Declares Total Victory Over GOP in Budget Battle." That headline's a misnomer.  There was never a battle.  None of this was opposed.  The Republican Party didn't stand up to any of it, and the die has been cast for a long time on this.  I know many of you are dispirited, depressed, angry, combination of all of that. But, folks, there was no other way this could go. Because two years ago when the Republican Party declared they would never do anything that would shut down the government and they would not impeach Obama, there were no obstacles in Obama's way and there were no obstacles in the way of the Democrat Party. 

What's the point in having an opposition party when they become wimps and don't oppose? They were elected to oppose the status quo in Washington, but they are to scared to even try. Small wonder "establishment Republicans" are doing terribly in the presidential contest.

I am almost ready to decide whom I will be supporting for the GOP presidential nomination. One thing is for certain, it won't be an establishment Republican. I, for one, am fed up with them. They have betrayed us and I will be doing what I can to defeat them.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor Defeated In Primary

“The GOP establishment’s problem isn’t with the Tea Party. It’s with Republican voters,” said political analyst Stuart Rothenberg tonight.

The current tsunami of illegal immigrants coming across the border into the United States along with any hint of squishiness on amnesty for illegal aliens on the part of members of congress just may well spell doom for their congressional careers. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor just found this out.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost his primary race in Virginia because of the immigration issue.

In recent weeks, the House GOP leadership has been drifting towards amnesty for illegal immigrants. This has riled up the Republican Party's base and it came to a head tonight when Cantor lost his primary to Tea Party challenger David Brat. Paul Ryan had better take heed of this!

According to the Associated Press:

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- In an upset for the ages, Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia, the second-most powerful man in the House, was dethroned Tuesday by a little-known, tea party-backed Republican primary challenger carried to victory on a wave of public anger over calls for looser immigration laws. 

The outcome may well mark the end of Cantor's political career, and aides did not respond Tuesday night when asked if the majority leader, 51, would run a write-in campaign in the fall. 

But its impact on the fate of immigration legislation in the current Congress seemed clearer still. Conservatives will now be emboldened in their opposition to legislation to create a path to citizenship for immigrants living in the country illegally, and party leaders who are more sympathetic to such legislation will likely be less willing to try.

Tea party advocates nationwide cheered the defeat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor by challenger Dave Brat in the Virginia Republican primary Tuesday, declaring it a harbinger of what's to come at the polls in November. 

"Cantor lost touch with the basic conservative principles on key issues we fight for," Washington lawyer Cleta Mitchell told Newsmax. She represents several tea party groups that have been targeted by the Internal Revenue Service.

"His loss should be a warning bell to the GOP establishment in D.C., particularly on fundamental issues such as voting rights and amnesty." 

Jenny Beth Martin, chairman of the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund, said that "analysts will be poring over election returns for months trying to explain how it was that a college professor who had never run for office before was able to defeat the second-most-powerful Republican in the House despite being outspent 15-to-1."

Republican establishment types had better start listening to and vote the concerns of the conservative base or they, too, will be out of a job. Just ask Eric Cantor.

Democrats should not take comfort in Cantor's defeat. They, too, could be swept away by voter anger over the immigration issue on top of the mess they and the Obama Administration made of this country.

WASHINGTON¬Earlier today, House Republicans announced a path forward on the nation’s near-term budget challenges. The 1974 Congressional Budget Act requires passage of a budget resolution by April 15 each year. Under Senator Harry Reid’s leadership, the Senate has refused to pass a budget for 1,360 days. As the Administration and Congress work through opportunities to cut government spending, there will be no consideration of a long-term debt-ceiling increase unless both the House and the Senate pass a long-term budget plan. The plan also includes a bipartisan proposal to withhold Senators’ salaries if they fail to pass a budget.

In response to the plan outlined by House Republican leaders, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan issued the following statement:

“I stand in strong support of the agreement reached by my colleagues today. Our conference has united around a common-sense proposal. It rests on the recognition that our challenge is twofold: We have to pay our bills today, and we have to make sure we can pay our bills tomorrow. To achieve both ends, we must cut spending and budget responsibly.

“Since taking the majority, House Republicans have done their job. We’ve passed a budget that promotes economic growth and gets spending under control. The House GOP Caves On Senate Fiscal Cliff Bill

This just came in an email from the Washington Post:

The U.S. House has voted to approve a bill allowing taxes to rise on the wealthy, extending unemployment benefits for millions and delaying deep automatic spending cuts in federal spending for two months, ending the long national drama over the fiscal cliff. 

It should be noted that Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida voted no on the bill, while Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin  vote yes.

I've already decided to back Rubio for president in 2014 should he run.  Ryan is toast.  Conservatives will not forgive this vote.

Obama: "I will not have another debate with this Congress" over the debt ceiling. "We can't not pay bills that we've already incurred."

Biden: Rude and Obnoxious; Ryan: Polite and Informed

I watched about an hour's worth of the debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan before I had to run errands and listened to it on the car radio.

On substance, I would have to give the nod to Ryan as he came at Biden with facts and figures.  Biden, for his part, was aggressive to the point of being an obnoxious boor in constantly interrupting Ryan.  Biden undermined his performance by being obnoxious.  All Biden had were smirks and bluster.  He came off as a wildman.

Remember Al Gore's loud sigh in 2000?  It hurt him badly for the rude impression he gave people.  Biden multiplied that ten-fold.

This debate won't change anything.  

Tackling The Medicare Issue Head-on

As the Democrats demagogue the issue of Medicare, there's a couple of things to keep in mind:

Quick quiz: Who said this about Medicare? "With an aging population and rising health care costs, we are spending too fast to sustain the program. And if we don't gradually reform the system while protecting current beneficiaries, it won't be there when future retirees need it. We have to reform Medicare to strengthen it." 

It wasn't Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI), Mitt Romney's new running mate, who has been vocal about the need for Medicare reform. It was President Barack Obama, just last year. 

As the debate reignites over the government's health care plan for seniors, which has a long-term unfunded liability of nearly $37 trillion, two things are important to remember: 

1. Obamacare has already "ended Medicare as we know it." 

2. There is bipartisan consensus for moving Medicare toward a premium support model, meaning that the government would make a fixed contribution toward each enrollee's plan, but the enrollee would have the freedom to choose which health care plan he or she wants.

Hollywood: Who Gives A Sh*t What It Thinks?

The Hollywood Reporter Tweeted that the selection of Rep. Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's VP running mate will "galvanize" Hollywood liberals into supporting Barack Obama with more fervor.

My response:

Who gives a shit what "Hollywood" thinks? The industry has been out of step from Mainstream America for decades!

The Hollywood elites will vote for Obama no matter who Romney runs with. 

Paul Ryan Will Provide Sharper Clarity On The Issues

True to form, the Obama lefties are heaping scorn on the selection of Paul Ryan as VP nominee by Mitt Romney. The Democrats are attacking Ryan over his budget proposal, saying, "It will end Medicare as we know it."  The Democrats did that in raiding Medicare funds for Obamacare.  Medicare was already broke. The raid only made it worse.

Conservatives, on the other hand, especially those in the Tea Party movement, are joyous over the selection.

Matt Kibbe of Freedomworks is also pleased.  He wrote (in part):

That said, Romney made a good choice — a great choice in fact. It was a real indication to grassroots America that the Romney camp is willing to finally engage on the big issues that matter most in this election. It’s not quite enough to say that Obama has failed, we know that. Incumbent presidents should not win reelection with persistent unemployment over 8 percent and a staggering $16 trillion in debt. Clearly Obama needs to be fired. But what are you, the Republicans, actually for?

It is vital that the conservative base and the Tea Party are energized.  The selection of Rep. Paul Ryan has already accomplished that in spades.  I can't wait to see his debate with Vice President Joe Biden.  Ryan will mop the floor with him.  And, he will take the debate to the Democrats and their failed policies.

The campaign has to be a referendum on Obama's tenure in the White House.  The lying personal attack ads only serve as diversions from a discussion over the real issues: the economy, debt and jobs. There are poll indications that the attack ads are backfiring on Obama.  By all rights, they should.

With Paul Ryan on board, the GOP can provide its vision of restoring the American Dream with sharper clarity.

The "R-R Team": Romney Picks Ryan For Veep!

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney selected Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan to be his vice-presidential running mate.

This is seen as a bold move and one that will please conservatives who are pressing to have the campaign focus inatead on Obama's record in office instead of bogus diversions the Obama campaign and their Super Pac have been spewing out.

Ryan will be able to go after the Democrats on the budget (or lack of one) and their spending policies.  Ryan shocked and awed the administration on Obamacare during a heathcare summit.  See the video here.

The selection of Paul Ryan is an excellent one.

Newt Stepped On It

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich seems to be self-destructing just after he officially threw his hat into the presidential ring.

Gingrich was leaving an event at a Dubuque, Iowa Holiday Inn when an Iowa Republican approched him and said:

"Get out now before you make a bigger fool of yourself.”

Gingrich is under fire from Republicans for his statements on Paul Ryan's proposal on Medicare. On yesterday's Meet The Press, Gingrich said, "I don't think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering. I don't think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate."

In this exchange with host David Gregory, Gingrich didn't help his cause:

GINGRICH: We ought to have some requirement that you either have health insurance or you post a bond...

GREGORY: But that is the individual mandate is it not?

GINGRICH: It's a variation of it.

What Gingrich did was, in effect, (I have to clean this up a bit) stepping on his [male member].

WSJ: Obama Speech Dishonest

The Wall Street Journal posted an editorial on President Obama's speech yesterday at George Washington University.

It begins with:

Did someone move the 2012 election to June 1? We ask because President Obama's extraordinary response to Paul Ryan's budget yesterday—with its blistering partisanship and multiple distortions—was the kind Presidents usually outsource to some junior lieutenant. Mr. Obama's fundamentally political document would have been unusual even for a Vice President in the fervor of a campaign.

The immediate political goal was to inoculate the White House from criticism that it is not serious about the fiscal crisis, after ignoring its own deficit commission last year and tossing off a $3.73 trillion budget in February that increased spending amid a record deficit of $1.65 trillion. Mr. Obama was chased to George Washington University yesterday because Mr. Ryan and the Republicans outflanked him on fiscal discipline and are now setting the national political agenda.

Mr. Obama did not deign to propose an alternative to rival Mr. Ryan's plan, even as he categorically rejected all its reform ideas, repeatedly vilifying them as essentially un-American.
