A little big ago, I watched a video of Republican senators who met with His Frauduentcy Joe Biden at the White House this evening on a proposed COVID-19 relief package.

All I could recognize were Susan Collins and Mitt Romney.

I didn't see any conservatives in the group (well, they were wearing masks).

There were some voting irregularities that need to be addressed. I have one of my own, as I posted yesterday.

Mark Ronchetti is now the Republican nominee for U.S. Senator from New Mexico. He was not my choice (Elisa Martinez was).

He has "a lot of "splainin'" to do. He badmouthed Donald Trump at a climate change event last year, calling him the "orange one". Where does he stand today? Will he welcome the President to New Mexico for campaign events? Has he apologized for his remarks? Will he be a Republican senator we can be proud of or will he be a R.I.N.O. in the mold of a Mitt Romney or a Jeff Flake?

He needs to address these questions sufficiently for win conservative Republican support in the general election. Some have already declared their non-support. To me, he is preferable to Ben Ray Lujan. If he hopes to win the general election, he needs enthusiastic support from the Republican base.

Rush On The Mueller Report

The following is what Rush Limbaugh said about the Mueller Report yesterday:

This report could have been issued in one page: We found no evidence of collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign, period, and we don’t have enough to say that there was any obstruction of justice. You could have done this in one page, maybe two, and be done with it. 

But, no. I’ve had a chance to read some of this report today — by no means all of it, it’s 400 pages. And, my friends, I’m telling you, this report is made to order for the Democrat Party to ignore what is the only important thing about this: no collusion, no obstruction, period. That’s it! 

But if you turn on cable news today — and it doesn’t matter what channel — all you’re going to get is ongoing discussions and reading of various excerpts from the report with expert analysts explaining how, “Why didn’t Mueller charge obstruction? Why, it’s all in here.” No, it isn’t. 

This entire thing is bogus from the beginning. I am unable to avoid redundancy here, folks. I’m unable to avoid repeating things I’ve said over and over. None of this actually is real, except that it is. None of this was ever necessary. There never was any collusion, and there never was any evidence of any collusion. 

This report is just the latest installment of the ongoing effort to convince as many Americans as possible that Donald Trump is illegitimate, that his election was illegitimate, that he’s a bad guy and that he doesn’t deserve to be president. He may not have colluded with Russia, but he sure as hell tried to get in the way of our investigation. 

There should not have been an investigation, is the whole point, and this wasn’t an investigation. This is the seminal point that I can make. It is incorrect to characterize what Robert Mueller’s thing was as an investigation. When Robert Mueller was shown the file, the James Comey investigation file, when he was shown that after having been named, there was nothing in it. 

There has never been any evidence of collusion with Russia between Trump or anybody on his campaign to affect the outcome of the presidential election. And the attorney general said so today again and again and again. And this morning before the report was released the Drive-By Media and media complex and Democrat complex were livid that Barr was gonna go first. They were livid. 

Well, this is what happens when you lose elections, Democrats. You don’t get to set the agenda on things. The Justice Department does press conferences all the time announcing the results of investigations. They’re out there claiming that this thing was rigged from top to bottom. Barr is acting as Trump’s personal lawyer, ignoring for the fact that Eric Holder said a couple of times he was Barack Obama’s wingman. They applauded that, didn’t have any problem with that. 

Jerry Nadler, Chuck Schumer, these people are making fools of themselves, continuing now their belief that Trump did do something and no matter what Barr said today, this report is gonna prove it.

No matter what the Fake News media, Democrats and RINO Sen. Mitt Romney says, there was no collusion and no obstruction. Period.

As the freshman senator from Utah, Mitt Romney is a long way from the presidency. That has to be especially tough on a two-time presidential loser with You-Know-Who sitting in the Oval Office, a guy who took the brass ring by doing the exact opposite of what you did.

My opinion of Mitt Romney has changed over the years. When he lost the Republican nomination to John McCain in 2008, I thought he was a classy guy with a future. When he lost the general election to Barack Obama in 2012, I thought he was a good man with a glass jaw. When he repeatedly got on his high horse to sabotage Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016, I thought he was an opportunistic sleaze bag gorging on sour grapes and his own monstrously selfish sense of virtue.

But now, after reading his Washington Post jihad against Trump, I finally figured whatMitt Romney really is … an idiot.

Romney might have a high IQ, but he’s a political moron.

Let’s first dispel with the idea that Romney wrote this op-ed out of some pressing moral need to condemn Trump’s supposed indecency. Decent people don’t contribute to the far-left Washington Post, a news outlet that published a countless number of lies to sabotage Romney, that attacks the children of Republicans, that tells almost as many lies as CNN.

Secondly, decent people sure as hell do not then run to a blacklisting, violence-promoting gangster outfit like CNN to promote that op-ed, and do so specifically with a presidential-penis-obsessed serial liar like Jake Tapper, who is so gosh-darned virtuous he remained silent as his own audience booed a rape victim.

Oh, and let us never forget the series of fake news depth charges CNN dropped on Romney in 2012.

So why would Romney do such a thing? Why would Mr. Decency align himself with objectively indecent organizations and people?

And now we come to the part about Romney being a moron.

Just as his fellow moron John McCain believed in 2008, I think Romney actually believes two things…

1) Sucking up to the media by backstabbing the sitting Republican president is a path to another shot at the Oval Office.

2) When he does run for president again, the same media that relentlessly tarred him as a sexist, racist, plutocrat, job-killing corporate raider who tortures dogs, bullies gays, and gives women cancer, will appreciate him this time.

As far as number one, I think I speak for many Republican voters, including those who vigorously supported Romney in 2012, when I say kiss my ass. Screw you, you preening, backstabbing, undermining, half-witted peacock whose first official act as an incoming U.S. Senator is to sucker punch  Trump, the man who not only endorsed you in Utah, but did so graciously after you launched a series of unhinged and very personal attacks against Trump during the 2016 campaign.

If Mitt Romney were on fire, I wouldn’t spit on him.

And then there’s number two, Romney the Vichy Republican betraying our president to the Washington Post and CNN and Tapper, the worst of the worst of the worst. “Tone deaf” doesn’t even begin to explain it.

Is there not a single one of Mitt Romney’s handlers who can see what is going on here? Are all of these so-called professionals so blinded by hate and arrogance that they truly cannot grasp how their boy is being played? Do they actually believe this siren song….?

We were so, so, so, so wrong about you in 2012, and we are so, so sorry. The Bad Orange Man has returned us to our senses and now we see that you are a pure and noble man who deserves to be president. Although the rest of us can see the open maw of this trap from a mile away, this nitwit still hasn’t figured out that this charade is only about one thing — putting a Democrat back in the White House in 2020; and the best shot the media have of accomplishing that is if an insecure simpleton can be fooled into running a destructive primary campaign against Trump.

Columnist Monica Crowley (who used to work for another street-fighter, Richard Nixon) has a new article in the Washington Times on Donald Trump as the GOP's much-needed street-fighter.

I think she nails the current GOP establishment "nervous Nellies" and losers like Mitt Romney (who made an ass of himself today) quite well.

Here's a snippet:

The Republican powerbrokers then told themselves that given Mr. Trump’s outrageous statements and caustic personality, most GOP voters would come to their senses, get serious and fall in line as they have always done quite reliably. Mr. Trump, they argued, could not win a single primary state. 

Then actual voting began. And the first-timer, the brash anti-politician, began racking up resounding victories in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. He even placed second in Iowa, an evangelical-heavy state that conventional wisdom suggested would never have even considered the New York showman in the first place.

We can credit (or blame, depending upon your point-of-view) the establishment wimps of the Republican Party for the rise of street-fighters Trump and, to a degree, Sen. Ted Cruz. By not standing up to Obama and the Democrats, they have angered the rank-in-file voters.

The Blame Bush B.S.

Talk show host Rush Limbaugh mentioned some exit polling taken during the election that show people still blaming President George W. Bush for this economy, despite the fact the President Obama has been in office for nearly four years and whose policies made economic matters worse.

Limbaugh correctly pointed out that for most of Bush's tenure, the economy was robust with 4% unemployment on average, which is considered full employment by economists.

It was only during the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008 when things went sour due to the mortgage meltdown caused by the sub-prime loan policies of lenders, led by Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae.  Bush had nothing to do with those and his administration sounded a warning of potential trouble as far back as 2002.

I sent the following email to Limbaugh today:

One problem I've noticed during the campaign is that Romney and none of the other GOP candidates offered any kind of rebuttal to Obama's/Democrats' charges of "Bush's policies got us into this mess." Romney just sat and said nothing during a debate when Obama stated this. 

We know it was the Democrats' policies of extending mortgage loans to people who had no business in taking them out and who had no means of repaying them back.

The Bush Administration sounded the alarm as far back as 2002 on problems with this, but they were met with charges or racism by Maxine Waters, et al.

This will keep on as long as the GOP doesn't "go for the throat" in rebutting their charges. They keep allowing the "blame Bush" stuff to stand.

What A (Possible) Waste of An Election Year

At present, it appears that Barack Obama has enough electoral votes (270 needed) to win another four years in the White House.

Mitt Romney is not conceding the election.  I wouldn't either as the numbers are only projections, not actual votes.

However, if Obama is in fact re-elected, the next two years (at least) will be like the last two as the GOP has retained control of the House of Representatives and the Democrats retain control of the Senate.

One thing I can predict, no matter who wins the White House, there will be a big rise in unemployment as Obamacare kicks in.  It will be fully implemented in 2014.  Also, if the big tax hikes that's coming in January aren't repealed, those will also add to the country's economic woes and keep businesses from hiring.

Romney's big mistake was not hitting Obama hard on the Benghazi tragedy.  It was not mentioned since the second debate.  Had he hit Obama hard on Benghazi, things might be different tonight.

Romney had a momentum going two weeks ago and then Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast.  That stalled it and it barely began to pick up again.  But it was just too late.

2016 can't come soon enough.

The third and final debate between Gov. Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama is now in the history books (and in upcoming newspapers).

The impression I get in this is that Romney acted presidential and Obama acted like a challenger, and an angry one at that.

There were no "knockout punches," but Romney nailed Obama on his "apology tour," education and Iran.  Obama wrong on Romney's position on the auto industry bailout.  The fact-checkers are backing Romney.

Obama rambled through his closing remarks. Romney's closing statement was strong and positive.

Bob Schieffer did a good job as moderator.

L.A. Times: A Dumb and Dishonest Endorsement of Obama

A long time ago (that is, back in the late 1970s), I worked as a telephone solicitor for the Los Angeles Times in Redondo Beach, California.  My job was to contact residents via reverse telephone directories and ask them to subscribe to the paper.  (I also worked as a free-lance photographer for the L.A. Herald-Examiner.)

Quite often, I would get turned down with this reason: "The Times is too liberal."  To be quite honest, I agreed with them (although I couldn't say so).  This was the time that the paper was under the leadership of Otis Chandler.

The Los Angeles Times wasn't always a liberal paper; it was a conservative paper under Harry Chandler.  But as time went on, the newspaper got progressively more liberal in its editorial stances.  They would endorse an occasional Republican, but most often they would endorse Democrats for various offices.

The Chandler family eventually sold the Times to the Tribune Publishing Company of Chicago. 

Well, guess who is currently in the White House and is also from Chicago?  You got it!  Barack Obama.

I opened the October 21 edition of the Los Angeles Times and found that they have endorsed for re-election Barack Obama, formerly of Chicago.  

The sub-heading of the endorsement reads as follows:

"The nation has been well served by his leadership.  And Romney has shown he is the wrong choice."

Say what?!  On what basis is Romney "the wrong choice"?

While they note that the country is "deeply in the red" (thanks to the irresponsible spending of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid troika, but they don't mention that), they feel that Romney's proposals to cut taxes on middle-income people would further drive up costs on the middle class.   They seem to think that taxing "the rich" is a responsible policy and borrowing more money from China is the prudent thing to do. 

Hello, Earth to the Times!  Taxes were cut in the 1980s under Ronald Reagan and the government actually received more revenue as a result of the economic boom that took place.   This was the same policy that President John F. Kennedy advocated back in the 1960s.  He said, "A rising tide lifts all ships."

 

The editorial accuses Republicans of "obstructionism" (although Obama had a free hand during the first two years of his administration), accusing Obama of being a socialist (the record speaks for itself along with his associations with radicals like Bill Ayres) and challenged his legitimacy of his birthplace (the "birther" thing was pursued by people on the fringe, not by mainstream Republicans) among other things.

The Times cites ridiculous things in their endorsement, too numerous to go into here.  They ignore the fact that Obama set out to "fundamentally transform" (his words) the country.  That is why the "Great Recession" is still with us.  They ignore that, too.

The Times is "troubled" that "we still don't know what [Romney's] principles are."  Yet, they fail to mention that Obama has not even stated what he plans to do in a second term.  But, that doesn't seem to bother them. 

It also doesn’t seem to bother the Times that Obama picks and chooses what laws he enforces and not enforces.  It doesn’t bother them that Obama rules by edict and by-passes Congress when he finds it convenient. 

Obama's foreign policy is in shambles.  He projects weakness, not strength.  He has alienated allies like Israel.  But that's okay, according to the Times.

It shouldn't be a surprise, the Times is just another fellow-traveler in Obama's leftism.

The Los Angeles Times, owned by the Chicago-based Tribune Publishing Company, has jettisoned the remaining bit of credibility it had. 

 

To use a line Ronald Reagan used at the 1980 GOP National Convention, can anyone honestly say, "keep up the good work" and "let's have four more years of this" in relation to Barack Obama? 

Not hardly.  Theirs is a dumb and dishonest endorsement. 

Romney/Obama Debate II: Romney Right, Obama/Crowley Wrong

We got a Crowley, but the wrong one.*

Tonight's townhall-style debate between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney is over and done with.

Obama had more life to him tonight (he had to, he was near-death during the last debate) and Romney gave as good as he got.  Actually, he gave better as Obama lied on Libya (moderator Candy Crowley improperly acted as a "fact-checker" during the debate and got it wrong)  (See Video: CNN's Candy Crowley: Romney Was Actually Right On Libya http://bit.ly/RRzxil), energy and unemployment.

The talk tonight is the Libya portion of the debate.  Romney had it right and Obama lied with help from Crowley.  At least she is now admitting Romney was right.  She shouldn't have interjected herself as a "fact-checker."  All hell is breaking loose over this.

Romney was best on the economy.  Obama did not offer any kind of agenda for a second term should he get one.

Obama tried, but he needed a home run tonight but didn't get one.  Candy Crowley tried to save him, but her blunder in doing so is going to be the main topic in the upcoming news cycle.

The Obama campaign's ad featuring Big Bird (they're still running it despite the objections of the producers of Sesame Street) is catching hell in the media.  Many have called it silly and right out of Saturday Night Live.

Oh-oh!  The Obama Campaign crossed the line.

In case you haven't seen it ... Team Obama released the ad following the debate, in which they mock Mitt Romney's vow to cut off government funding to PBS. The ad portrays Big Bird as an enemy of America who towered over criminals like Bernie Madoff and Ken Lay.

Big Bird is so pissed, he is now leaving the country for a vacation.  Maybe, hang out with Hello Kitty?

Romney Takes Lead In Ohio!

The American Research Group, Inc. has posted their latest poll of likely voters in Ohio and it shows that former Governor Mitt Romney has taken the lead.

Debate Showed Obama Out of His League

It has been over 24 hours since the first debate between President Obama and Governor Mitt Romney and it is amazing to see the total derangement of the American Left.  They are in virtual meltdown.

Chris Matthews, amongst others, went off his rocker, incredulous over how listless Obama was while facing, for the first time, an articulate conservative.   He has never faced an intellectual equal (or superior) in his life.

 

They are also blaming Jim Lehrer for his moderation or, in their view, lack of moderation of the debate.  I thought he did just fine as he let the candidates question each other.  That's a real debate!

Al Gore blamed the altitude of the city of Denver (the "Mile-high City") on Obama's poor performance.

In reality, this was the real Obama we saw in Denver.  He was out of his league back in 2008 and he is out of his league now.    

One thing has been noted during these past 24 hours that makes the most sense is that the media, in their efforts to protect Obama since 2008, did him no favor as he has never been seriously challenged over his policies or his political views.  Obama, and most of the Left, live in bubbles where the only views they hear are ones they agree with.  They don't seek out opposing viewpoints.  They try to censor them.

Take a look at Obama's upbringing.  He was nurtured by Leftists, communists, progressives, and radical ministers.  He really doesn't know anything else.  He is not used to being challenged.

Leftism is emotion-based.  It doesn't matter if a program doesn't work or how much it costs.  It it only the "good intentions" that matter to them.  Facts don't impress them.  Reality doesn't mean anything to them.  They believe in a certain way and that's all they subscribe to.

Leftists see people of the Right as "evil," whereas people of the Right see them as just wrongheaded.   Leftists want to control people's lives to perpetuate their power, conservatives just want to be left alone.

The excuse the Left is promoting is that Romney "lied," yet they don't present any evidence of this.  They believe in their own distortions of Romney's positions.  When faced with the facts, unfiltered by the lapdog Obama mainstream media, they became unglued.  This was the real Romney everyone saw.

When Ronald Reagan performed poorly in his first debate with Walter Mondale in 1984 or when George H. W. Bush performed poorly against Bill Clinton in 1992, conservatives didn't go out in a hysterical panic.  Conservatives, unlike the Left, are not emotion-driven.

Romney's win was an ideological and factual one.  A stark contrast of the two positions of the role of government in people's lives was presented.  Viewers were much more responsive to Romney's view. 

Obama, obviously, just can't handle it.
