Sampling of Frank "Captain Rowdy" Lunney

Googling around I found an assortment of articles and videos of Frank "Captain Rowdy" Lunney who passed away in his sleep July 5.

Here's a sampling of items that popped up:

Article from the Houston Chronicle of 3/17/91.

Article from Lubbock Avalanche-Journal of 8/10/03.

Article from Tulsa World of 5/21/08.

Post from A Place To Laugh.com of 2/4/12.

And, last but not least...

Video from MySpace Comedy of 4/13/11.

How did Frank Lunney become a stand-up comic?  Well, as I was there at the beginning, I can tell you!

Was MySpace Better Off Four Years Ago?

Was MySpace better off four years ago? That is the question.

I first joined MySpace four years ago (2007) as it was the premier social networking site. I found it easy to use and the layouts on the home page understandable.

Since then, MySpace has been eclipsed by Facebook as the premier social networking site. Facebook is easy to use and it doesn't take rocket science to figure it out.

After Facebook overtook and surpassed MySpace in popularity, the "powers that be" at MySpace re-tooled it to be more like Facebook. Unfortunately, instead of being like Facebook, MySpace is now a jumbled-up mess. Getting to one's MySpace blogs is not as easy as it used to be. It now takes a little bit of searching just to get to the blog manager page.

The home page is no longer user-friendly, in my opinion. They've placed too many things in it and it really has become a hassle to use. Whereas, Facebook is still easy to use. I rarely go to MySpace anymore.

If MySpace hopes to survive, it needs to return to its former glory days. It needs to get back to what made it so popular before Facebook came along. And, it needs to be more user-friendly.

Larry Storch Cancels NY Convention Appearance

Former F Troop actor Larry Storch announced on the Official Website of Larry Storch (MySpace) page that he has cancelled his appearance at the TV and Movie World Convention in New York.

The announcement (dated April 22) reads as follows:

It should be noted that Larry is currently listed to appear at TV and Movie world convention in Sept of 09'. We want everyone to know that this appearance has been cancelled, due to Mr. Soto's unprofessionalism. Please make note that Larry will not be at the show. We have since learned many concerning things about this show and its staff; therefore we have cancelled Larry's appearance. For some reason Mr. Soto refuses to accept the fact that Larry will not be there, and will not remove his photograph and listed name. But believe us Larry will NOT be there.
