San Bernardino County Residents Want To Secede From Leftist California

Back in 2017, I visited New Mexico to see what was available in real estate. I ended up buying a two acre ranchette outside of Gallup.

Granted, New Mexico's state government, like Commiefornia's, is also dominated by Democrats, but at least the Democrats outside of the cities (Santa Fe, Albuquerque, etc.) are not of the radical far-left variety.

In September, I visited L.A. for the first time since I moved to New Mexico for a class reunion. The visit drove home to me why I made the right decision in getting out. California has become a cesspool under Democrat rule.

Now, the residents of California's San Bernardino County have voted to study seceding from the state. They've had enough.

From Breitbart:

San Bernardino County residents voted for officials to study the possibility of seceding from California as more grow increasingly tired of the state’s far-left policies.

The county approved the advisory ballot proposal, which was voted upon in November, earlier this week, the Associated Press (AP) reported. San Bernardino’s Board of Supervisors’ next step is likely to form a committee that will study if state and federal public funds were fairly distributed with local governments within the county.

Curt Hagman, the chairman of the Board of Supervisors, says there is “a lot of frustration” that San Bernardino residents have toward the left-wing governing policies of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and the Democrat-controlled state legislature.

Residents in the county, and across the state, pay the highest taxes in the nation while also living under soaring rates of crime, homelessness, and high housing costs.

I wish San Bernardino County good luck in this. But I have my doubts that secession will come to pass. I would be happily surprised if they do secede.

Oregon Counties Vote To Join Idaho

Voters in several eastern rural Oregon counties voted this week to secede from the domination of Portland liberals and join the more conservative Idaho.

Some Northern California counties also want to join a new "Greater Idaho".

The Epoch Times wrote:

Several counties in Oregon on May 18 voted to consider joining the state of Idaho, which is part of a long-shot movement to break away from the state that has long been dominated by politicians in Portland.

Voters in Malheur, Sherman, Grant, Baker, and Lake counties approved various measures that require county officials to take steps to look into moving the Idaho border west to incorporate the counties.

The grassroots group Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho is aiming to have the eastern counties—which are mostly rural—join Idaho because they believe they would be better off with Idaho’s more conservative political leadership.

“This election proves that rural Oregon wants out of Oregon,” lead petitioner Mike McCarter said in a statement to local media outlets on May 18. “If Oregon really believes in liberal values such as self-determination, the Legislature won’t hold our counties captive against our will. If we’re allowed to vote for which government officials we want, we should be allowed to vote for which government we want as well.”

Law-Abiding States "Form Their Own Union"

The U.S. Supreme Court, who is charged with preserving, defending and interpreting the Constitution, doesn't seem to want to do its duty.

As such, the Texas Republican chairman is suggesting that law-abiding states form their own union. In other words, secession.

The Daily Caller reported:

The chairman of the Republican Party of Texas suggested Friday that “law-abiding states” should form their own union after the Supreme Court’s rejection of a lawsuit seeking to invalidate votes from four battleground states.

“This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the US constitution and not be held accountable. This decision will have far reaching ramification for the future of our constitutional republic. Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution,” said the statement from Chairman Allen West.

The statement decried the Supreme Court’s ruling that rejected Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s lawsuit, which asked the high court for an emergency order to invalidate ballots from Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

20 States Petition White House To Secede

The Daily Caller reported:

On Nov.7, the day after President Barack Obama was re-elected, the White House’s website received a petition asking the administration to allow Louisiana to secede.
If 25,000 people sign the petition by Dec. 7, it will “require a response” from the Obama administration, according to published rules of the White House’s online “We the People” program.

Similar petitions from 18 other states began arriving Nov. 9, bringing the total — for the moment — to 20.
