Facebook Correctional Facility

My Facebook account was put on "restriction" this morning. I can comment on posts, but not much else. 

So far, these are the things I can't do there:

Of course, Facebook has not said what exactly was the offending post for the restricted status except for this:

The above was what I received when I tried to share a blog post on the 42nd anniversary of the Reagan assassination attempt. 

Apparently, someone snitched to the Facebook Gestapo for something. It would be helpful if they would specifically state what was the offending post. But they never do, which is cowardly on their part. 

The good thing is, the restrictions haven't dented my daily view numbers here. I'll just have to wait it out.

ATF Asks Bitter Exes to Turn in Their Former Partners

It is not known to me if the following is serious or a joke.

But knowing that it originated from the administration of His Fraudulency Joe Biden, I would take it seriously.

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) fired off a shameful tweet today, commemorating Valentine’s Day by encouraging angry women to turn in their ex-boyfriends, the American Military News reported.

Oregon Governor Advocates Thanksgiving Snitching

Left-wing wacko Governor Kate Brown is urging Oregonians to snitch on their neighbors if they see them celebrating Thanksgiving with "too many" guests.

The New York Post reported:

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown is urging residents to rat out their neighbors who break COVID-19 restrictions by having too many guests over on Thanksgiving.

Brown recently limited the number of people allowed in a private home to six as part of a two-week “freeze” for the entire state to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Oregon has more than 66,000 reported cases in the state, according to The Oregonian.

“Look, this is no different than what happens if there’s a party down the street and it’s keeping everyone awake,” Brown told KGW8 last week. “What do neighbors do? They call law enforcement because it’s too noisy. This is just like that. It’s like a violation of a noise ordinance.”

This is a typical totalitarian tactic used by the Nazis and communists in the 20th Century. What's next, Governor? Gulags?

NM Snitches Turning In Violators of Health Orders

The Democrats in control of the New Mexico state government and their toadies in the Department of public health are encouraging people to snitch (tattle) on people and businesses allegedly not complying with the governor's health orders. 

This reeks of Nazi Germany.

According to the Albuquerque Journal:

The secret’s out. 

New Mexicans have turned on their fellow Land of Enchantment residents in recent weeks, reporting those not wearing masks or physically distancing far enough, holding mass get-togethers or selling things on the sly. Thousands have reported businesses and individuals for violating New Mexico public health orders during the pandemic to the Department of Public Safety.  

The state government website has a portal where people can easily report noncompliance with the orders. A state senator was among those outed for making a report.

And now, there’s an effort by some, including a political blog and an Albuquerque radio host, to unmask these tattletales.

This kind of thing is very familiar to those who are students of World War II history. In case you aren't one of them, here's what happened in Nazi Germany.

Informants 

In Nazi Germany, some citizens passed on information about their neighbours, family, and friends to the Gestapo. This was called informing. Nazi propaganda presented the Gestapo as an omnipresent all-seeing, all-knowing group, but in reality there was just one secret police officer for approximately every 10,000 citizens of Nazi Germany. The Gestapo were therefore reliant on a network of thousands of informants. 

The information passed on by informants typically accused someone of breaking the law or of being a criminal in some way. The information provided was not always based on fact and could often be rumour or suspicion. For example, if someone had stereotypical Jewish features they might be informed on to be a potential Jew, and would therefore have to prove that they were not a Jew to the Gestapo or face torture and imprisonment. Informants reported on a number of different undesirable activities, such as anti-Nazi sentiment, communist activity, Jews in hiding, people suspected to be Jews, and much more. 

These are the kinds of people who would have turned in Anne Frank.

Snitches In New Mexico

It was bound to happen after the governor's "stay at home" order was issued.

There are some people who just feel the need to tattle on businesses who are defying that order to the state government.

I do agree that all (individual and businesses) should comply. If they did, then the "lock down" would be of shorter duration. But, I am not sure tattling (snitching) is the way to go on those who aren't.

According to the Albuquerque Journal:

Has Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s order for the closure of nonessential businesses and banning congregations of more than five people fallen on deaf ears? Or are some people just confused? 

New Mexico State Police have responded to more than 300 complaints of noncompliance since the governor’s order took effect Tuesday. Albuquerque police reported another 100 or so more. 

People also have taken to social media, including to the governor’s Facebook page, and emails to the Journal to complain about smoke shops, hobby supply stores and estate sale companies that are continuing to hold sales where people may be congregating.

When I went into Gallup a couple of days ago, it was not quite a "ghost town", but traffic was much less than normal. Plus, I saw a lot of shops closed.
