Superman and June 16

I was reading an article at the Superman Homepage on "Superman On Television" when the Calendar column on the left edge caught my attention.

For June 16 in Superman history, it was noted that Superman actor George Reeves (above) died of an alleged self-inflicted gunshot wound in 1959.

Also noted for June 16, longtime Superman artist Curt Swan died in 1987.

There's one other item for June 16:  "Traditionally commemorated as the day Krypton was destroyed." That one I wasn't aware of (or I may have long forgotten it).  Interesting.

It also indicates that Kal-El arrived on Earth (traditionally) on June 18.
