Boycott The NRA Boycotters

Bowing to mob pressure, the number of companies severing ties to the National Rifle Association (NRA) is growing. 

According to The Blaze:

What companies have severed ties with the NRA? 

The list is long and continues to grow: 

• Delta Airlines

• United Airlines

• Enterprise Holdings, which is the parent company of Enterprise rent-a-car, Alamo and National

• Symantec, a cybersecurity company

• SimpliSafe, a home-monitoring company

• First National Bank of Omaha, which issued the NRA Visa credit card

• MetLife

• Wyndam Hotel Group

• Avis

• Hertz

• Best Western hotel group 

• REI Co-op (REI is severing ties with companies with brands who do business with the NRA. See this.)

What can over five million NRA members do?

While the companies have been quick to sever ties with the NRA, they have not provided NRA members with detailed reasons why. The companies have simply caved to fact-free mob outrage. 

And that’s exactly why NRA members should boycott the companies boycotting or severing ties with the NRA. 

The NRA had absolutely nothing to do with the tragic shooting at MSD, yet the media have given the biggest platforms to people who somehow put responsibility for the shooting on the NRA. For the average American who doesn’t follow the news or isn’t familiar with the NRA, the media has built a perception that the NRA is actually culpable for the shooting. 

Again, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. 

The NRA has millions of law-abiding members who lawfully and faithfully exercise their Second Amendment rights. The NRA is interested in not only spreading firearm enthusiasm, but the organization works to teach and train Americans to be highly competent in firearm usage and safety. Nothing the organization does could ever be confused for training mass killers or encouraging illegal firearm use in any way, shape or form. 

To be sure, most NRA members carry guns so they can protect innocent people from the dangers of deranged people like the Florida shooter. They, and the organization they fund with annual dues, do the opposite of encourage mass shooters. 

Until these companies, many of which had long-standing relationships with the NRA, offer NRA members reasons for the severed ties, the NRA’s millions of members should take their business elsewhere — to companies with backbone.

I received a a promo email from Avis Rent-A-Car this morning.

My reply: Until you reverse your decision to sever ties with the National Rifle Association, I will no longer use Avis for my car rental needs.

Leftists Pressuring Companies To Cut Ties With NRA

The left wing is now pressuring businesses who have business relationships with the National Rifle Association to sever ties with the NRA.

The leftist "news" group, ThinkProgress, is spearheading this campaign.

Obviously, a few deranged leftists are making it seem like there's widespread anger over these businesses who do business with the NRA in the aftermath of the Parkland school shooting. This smells like a George Soros operation to me.

According to the New York Daily News:

A prominent private banking company and a top car rental chain are cutting ties with the National Rifle Association amid a social media movement to "#BoycottNRA."

The First National Bank of Omaha in Nebraska will not renew its contract for the gun group's NRA Visa card, spokesman Kevin Langin said in a statement.

"Customer feedback has caused us to review our relationship with the NRA," Langin said.

In addition, the car rental company Enterprise said its three brands would end a discount program for NRA members. Twitter accounts for Enterprise as well as Alamo and National tweeted late Thursday: "All three of our brands have ended the discount for NRA members. This change will be effective March 26."

Both companies released their statements repeatedly on Twitter following calls for them to separate from the gun group. Some Twitter users said they would take their business elsewhere.

The news website ThinkProgress had listed them as companies that support the NRA, noting that First National Bank offered two NRA cards, each with a $40 bonus, and touted it as "enough to reimburse your one-year NRA membership!" Enterprise offered NRA members "an unspecified discount," according to ThinkProgress.

Other rental companies on the ThinkProgress list include Hertz, Avis and Budget.

Weak-kneed executives of these companies are capitulating to this insideous campaign by announcing they are severing ties with the NRA. This tactic has been employed before by leftist groups.

Those companies who are severing ties with the NRA should be boycotted. The NRA has over 5 million members. If they boycott these wimpy companies, they will feel the pain.

The GOP's "Spinal Jeopardy"

You won't find any fans of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in this household, but I do have to applaud his stance on not confirming any nominee to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia put forth by President Obama.

However, the GOP squishes in the Senate are already showing their lack of backbone.

Senate Republicans’ widespread vow to automatically block any Supreme Court nominee President Obama puts forth may be wavering. 

Within minutes of Justice Antonin Scalia passing away on Saturday, Republicans declared that they would automatically block any replacement Obama would appoint during the 11 months he has left in office. Soon after, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced his intention to block any replacement until a new president takes office in 2017. 

But a conservative senator from North Carolina is breaking with his colleagues and calling for the GOP to at least give consideration to a potential replacement. 

Appearing on The Tyler Cralle Show on Tuesday morning, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) cautioned against vowing to automatically block any nominee. 

“I think we fall into the trap if just simply say sight unseen, we fall into the trap of being obstructionists,” Tillis said.

President Obama himself called for not confirming a Supreme Court nominee by President Bush while he was in the Senate. His whining now is laughable.
