Trump In Colorado

This may or may not be an indication on how the November election is going to go, but I noticed something in Colorado yesterday that reminded me of my trip four years ago to Metropolis, Illnois.

At that time, I saw many Trump signs on yards and businesses throughout my trip. I only saw two Hillary Clinton signs, and they were just on street corners.

Yesterday, I saw several Trump signs at businesses on the way to Durango and in Durango itself. I even saw Trump bumper stickers on vehicles (I remarked to Mitch that these people are gutsy). I saw not a single sign for Biden, and Colorado had turned into a liberal state (thanks to the influx of wackos from California, bringing their politics with them).

Hopefully, this is a good omen of things to come.

Second Amendment New Mexico Rogues Sticker

Another entrepreneur has come up with a Second Amendment New Mexico Rogue sticker (vinyl!) for those who want to display their constitutional patriotism.

We have to thank Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham for calling our county sheriffs and other opponents "rogues". It is akin to the "Deplorables" insult from Hillary Clinton.

"Looney Lujan" and the New Mexico "Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties" Mess

Since the controversy over Santa Fe's drive to force gun control laws upon the citizens of New Mexico, the people have been fighting back (on their own, I might add) without the interference or involvement of outsiders, unlike the Governor and Democrats.

Since this began, I started blogging about the many counties in the state who have declared themselves to be "Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties". In the 11 year history of this blog, it has never before received as many views. Each day, the views of my blog posts have been in the thousands. In only a few hours after posting about the Governor's "pity party", the views of that particular blog post numbered in the hundreds. The vast majority of viewers are from all over New Mexico. On average, each blog post has been getting 2,500 views.

To them, all I can say is, "Thank-you!"

As an added benefit (at least to me), I am able to see where the views are coming from. I am learning more about the geography of New Mexico as I check.

The sad thing about all this is that the Democrats and Governor aren't even trying to listen to the county sheriffs or to the citizenry. They'd rather hurl insults.

Governor calls the sheriffs a few "rogues" and says the counties are engaged in a "pity party" and called the movement "childish". The only one having a "pity party" is the Governor.

If she were politically smart, she and the Democrats would put a halt on the gun control bills and meet with all dissenting groups. Maybe then they will understand how passionate the people feel about this.

But no, they'd rather collect wads of cash from outsider leftist millionaires Michael Bloomberg and George Soros. The old saying goes, "Follow the money!" The money leads to them.

They are beholden to their leftist base, leftist dogma and outsiders. So they are telling the people of New Mexico to go to hell.

ECV Sticker Shock

The E Clampus Vitus sticker I had on the back bumper of The Beast started weathering badly, including detaching and curling up.

Fortunately, I had bought a red "Satisfactory!!! sticker at last month's Lost Dutchman Chapter's spring clamp-out. I hadn't stuck it on anything as yet and with the old sticker not looking so hot, I decided to remove it and put the new one there.

Fortunately, the old sticker was made of vinyl and was easy to remove. The new sticker is also made of vinyl and easy to put on.

Nomadic Fanatic & Campervan Kevin Stickers

There is one thing about the recreational vehicle community,most members are ready and willing to help out another RVer in need. Be it on the road, in a campground, an Internet forum or wherever, a fellow RVer will help out another.

In this case (or cases), two RVers were in need of a little assistance recently. Both of them have YouTube channels with thousands of subscribers. Each week, both post new videos on the events of their lives, generally good, but sometimes not-too-good events. They also provide ideas on attractions, campgrounds, boondocking, product reviews, technical tips and other topics while on the road.

The first one, Campervan Kevin, recently had a life-changing event: an impending divorce. Having been there myself, I can sympathize with him. To help out a little, I bought one of his Campervan Kevin stickers. He is no longer traveling around in a campervan, having just purchased a Big Foot Class C motorhome, in which he is living full-time with his three Yorkies. Kevin has been a very generous person as well. He helped the Nomadic Fanatic earlier this year when the Tioga motorhome ("Tilly") he was traveling in at the time was on its last legs in Florida. He donated an older Ford campervan to the Nomadic Fanatic to get him back on the road.

The second one, the Nomadic Fanatic, travels around the country with his cat Jax. He recently obtained a 1987 (I think that's the year) Tioga Class C motorhome (he named it "Olga"). About a couple of months ago, he began his latest cross-country trip from his home base in Olympia, Washington. However, he ran into a major problem while in the Bay Area of California: his transmission broke down. As he didn't have the funds to get the motorhome repaired and was about to be stranded, he asked his subscribers to purchase one of his stickers. Like Campervan Kevin, the Nomadic Fanatic's subscribers pitched in and bought a sticker (or more). Because of this, he was able to get the transmission rebuilt and he is back on the road. He is currently somewhere in Arizona at this writing.

The Nomadic Fanatic sticker arrived in the mail today along with a signed, personalized photo of him and Jax. Campervan Kevin also enclosed a signed, personalized photo with his sticker. I have to figure out where to put the stickers on The Beast. I may just get a board or something to display them. The photos and stickers are posted at top.

Reagan Bumperstickers

For something to do, I was going through some of my political collection and came upon a bunch of Ronald Reagan presidential campaign bumper stickers. (It is amazing what stuff one accumulates over the years!)

Back in 1976, when Reagan ran against President Gerald Ford for the GOP nomination at the Republican National Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, I was an area chairman for the Citizens For Reagan campaign. Once the primary campaign was over, I served as a California Reagan delegate to the national convention.

In 1980 and 1984, I also served as a Reagan campaign area chairman and attended the 1980 GOP National Convention in Detroit, Michigan as a California delegate. I also attended the 1984 GOP National Convention as a Reagan California alternate delegate in Dallas, Texas.

In those roles, I received shipments of campaign materials from the national campaign headquarters. These are some of the "leftovers." I am going by memory (which may be a little faulty) on what years and when they were used.

Repubican groups and individuals independent of the official Reagan campaigns would also produce bumperstickers.

1976

Above, the top sticker is definitely from the 1980 general election campaign. The one in the middle was a metallic sticker produced by the Young Overseas Americans for Reagan and Friends, an "independent voluntary work group." They were based in New Mexico. The sticker was printed in Hong Kong.

Above, this 1984 Reagan-Bush sticker is the the large one issued by the campaign. It is longer than the scanner bed so some of the image's edges were cut off.
