Could Your RV Be Your Lifesaver in an Evacuation?

Above, the motorhome at Meteor Crater, Arizona. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

My motorhome was a "lifesaver" (somewhat) when I first moved to New Mexico from California seven years ago.

I lived in it while waited for the movers to bring my belongings for about 12 days. My cat Sierra and I were comfortable during that period, which occasionally saw a few snowstorms come through.

But, if a disaster is impending, an RV could be the lifesaver for families. Thankfully, I have not had to use mine for disaster evacuations.

That is the topic of an article in Do It Yourself RV

They begin it with:

An RV evacuation plan isn’t exactly what most RVers imagine. It might sound straightforward, but in reality, it’s one of the most fluid and adaptable things you’ll ever need to create.

Think about it: hurricanes on the Gulf Coast, tornadoes in the Midwest, avalanches in the mountain states, nor’easters in New England, wildfires and earthquakes along the West Coast, flash floods and dust storms in the Southwest, and heatwaves in the South. Every region comes with its own challenges, and no two scenarios are ever the same.

And that’s just the beginning. Add in the unpredictability of life—changing routes, local laws, your RV’s size and fuel needs—and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. So, is an RV evacuation plan even possible? Or is it just filler to make us feel prepared?

Here’s the truth: an effective RV evacuation plan is less about perfection and more about preparation. Stick with me, and we’ll walk through the steps to turn your RV into a lifeline, no matter what comes your way.

OOPS! L.A. County Fire Goofed On Alert

Things sometimes get goofed up during emergencies.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department sent out a county-wide emergency alert telling people to evacuate, even in areas not affected by any fires.

According to the Daily News:

The Los Angeles County Fire Department mistakenly sent out an evacuation warning to all of Los Angeles County Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9.

Just before 4 p.m., people across the county received cell phone alerts ordering them to evacuate, even in areas unaffected by the ongoing fires.

“It was an error,” LACFD spokesperson Kaitlyn Aldana said.

The alert caused many residents, already tense from the ongoing fires raging across the county, to fear their homes were now in danger, too.

They sent out another alert rescinding the error alert.

Stopping At Tee Pee Trading Post

Above, arriving at the Tee Pee Trading Post in Lupton, Arizona yesterday. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Along the way to Williams, Arizona yesterday, I stopped in the Tee Pee Trading Post to pick up some cigars for the clampout.

While there, I chatted with one of the clerks and he said that they had to close and be evacuated when the derailment fire was raging.

According to CNN:

Evacuation orders were issued for residents within a two-mile radius of the derailment and fire along the New Mexico state line with Arizona, according to an update from BNSF Railway. All evacuations were lifted Sunday, according to a Facebook post from McKinley County Fire & Rescue.

All he heard when the explosion occurred was something like a muffled pop. The trading post was about a mile from the derailment.

This incident will be talked about for years to come.

Email Confirms Biden Filled Kabul Planes With Unvetted Afghans

As sure as the sun rises, things continue to get worse daily when in the hands of His Fraudulency Joe Biden.

Afghans evacuated in August numbered around 100,000. That's not the problem. The problem is, none were vetted before getting into the evacuation planes.

From The Gateway Pundit:

In August Joe Biden turned over Afghanistan to the Taliban terrorists and armed them with $80 billion in US weapons. It was the greatest transfer of weapons to an enemy force in history.

At the same time, 13 American servicemen and women were murdered by a terrorist after Biden put US troops in an impossible situation with an impossible mission. The Biden regime and international teams evacuated over 100,000 Afghans from Kabul before the US military fled Kabul. Thousands of Americans and green card holders still remain in Afghanistan to this day.

According to our report from military sources on the ground at the time, Joe Biden was not vetting any of the Afghans who were fleeing the country.

According to US Marines on the ground in Kabul at the time of departure, via Caz from The Raid Team Co., the military was not even checking the names of Afghans they were loading into planes out of Afghanistan.

US Marines on the ground at the time said the Biden regime only wanted the numbers for propaganda purposes and did not vet the Afghans flying out of Kabul.
