Newsom Defends Tire Replacement Rules Amid Backlash

Thank God that I moved out of that crazy communist state eight and a half years ago. I knew before moving that Gavin Newsom would be the next governor (after Jerry Brown) and his notorious leftist politics.

Sure enough, California (i.e., Commiefornia) has gone to hell in a handbasket over the past eight years.

The latest in Commiefornia's quackery is the tire replacement regulations that the unelected California Energy Department unanimously voted for. 

A firestorm erupted over this and, true to his usual modus operandi, Newsom is defending the new regulations by lying through his teeth.

According to the New York Post:

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday defended California’s controversial new tire rules, insisting the sweeping environmental regulations are a win for residents — even as critics warn they could leave drivers paying more.

Speaking at a press conference in the Bay Area, the Democratic governor touted the rules approved Monday that will phase out replacement tires that fail to meet the state’s new energy-efficiency standards.

The regulations are expected to affect roughly 70% of replacement tires currently on the market, potentially forcing Californians to shell out more for compliant rubber.

Newsom, however, brushed aside the backlash and argued the changes are ultimately good for the Golden State.

Maybe it's a good thing the Democrats did this now with the November election only two and a half months away. Vote out every damn Democrat!

A bill to regulate car tires was passed by the California Legislature 20 years ago but never implemented.

“The California Energy Commission dusted off a 20+ year old bill to pass new rules restricting tire sales in the state,” KCRA’s Ashley Zavala reported Monday. “The CEC has not regulated tires before. I asked Commissioner (former State Sen) Nancy Skinner if she pushed it & why this sat dormant until now.”

Assembly Bill 844 “directs the California Energy Commission to adopt a Replacement Tire Efficiency Program to ensure replacement tires for passenger cars and light-duty trucks sold in California are at least as energy-efficient as the tires sold as original equipment on new vehicles.”

Skinner justified the decision by the California Energy Commission “we regulate appliances, tires are kind of like that.”

Nancy Skinner is the same lawmaker who tried to ban “Bullets, the very thing that make guns deadly,” she said in a hearing in 2013 I reported on. When she couldn’t ban guns, she tried to ban bullets.

In 2013, Assembly Bill 48 by then-Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner (D-Berkeley) passed the Assembly by a 46-26 vote and moved over to the state Senate.

Her bill would have banned the sale of magazine parts kits that can hold more than 10 cartridges, and require mandatory reporting of law-abiding citizens who purchase more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition within a five-day period.

So naturally, when she can’t get you out of your car and onto public transit, she will make tires more expensive and difficult to get.

Dems Push For Taxpayer-Funded Tampons In Men's Rooms

The state of Maryland is having financial problems, yet the Democrats would rather waste taxpayers' money on ridiculous things, such as tampons in men's/boy's restrooms.

I kid you not!

The proposal, introduced by 17 House Democrats, has sparked debate in Annapolis over priorities, cost transparency and how taxpayer dollars should be spent as lawmakers race toward the end of the legislative session.

Maybe there's high numbers of shooting incidents and the boys need the tampons for bullet wounds?

Lunatic Rep. Maxine Waters Floats Deporting Melania Trump

The loon wants to investigate Melania Trump's immigration status.

Addressing an anti-Trump rally in Los Angeles this weekend, Waters suggested that First Lady Melania Trump may be undocumented and eligible for deportation.

“When he [Trump] talks about birthright, and he’s going to undo the fact that the Constitution allows those who are born here, even if the parents are undocumented, they have a right to stay in America,” she complained.

”If he wants to start looking so closely to find those who were born here and their parents were undocumented, maybe he ought to first look at Melania.”

“We don’t know whether or not her parents were documented. And maybe we better just take a look,” she added.

By the way, Melania Trump is a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Trump To Remove Transgender Servicemembers From Military

The incoming Trump Administration will be doing a massive clean-up of the military from day one.

This includes removing transgender military service members. Finally, the freakshow will be coming to an end.

President Trump will remove transgender servicemembers from the military by executive order on day one of his presidency.

“The ban is expected to be wider ranging than a similar order made during his first term in office, when Trump prevented transgender people joining the armed forces, but allowed those already serving to keep their jobs. President Biden rescinded the order, but this time even those with decades of service will be removed from their posts, according to several sources,” The Times reported.

California May Make Illegals Eligible For $150,000 Home Loans

Whenever I see a story such as the one below, the more glad I am that I moved out of the People's Republic of Commiefornia. 

The state's taxpayers may be footing the bill that would make illegal aliens eligible for state-supported home loans up to $150,000 if the pending legislation passes the legislature and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom.  

According to Fox News (via AOL):

Lawmakers in California could soon make the Golden State the first in the country to make undocumented immigrants eligible for up to $150,000 in state-supported home loans.

The Democratic supermajority in the California state legislature is likely to pass a measure this week that would make undocumented immigrants eligible for the "California Dream for All" loan program, a state-funded program that provides 20% in down payment assistance up to $150,000, according to a report for Politico.

Participants in the program must be first-time homebuyers, and at least one must be a first-generation homebuyer, while income levels must be below certain limits depending on the county where the recipient lives.

This is what you get when you have a one-party state government comprised of leftists.

APS Ousts Principal After Drag Queen Incident

It has been my long-held opinion that many school administrators are idiots. I've felt this way since elementary school.

The following buttresses that belief.

The Piñon Post reported:

Fury erupted from concerned citizens and parents after a video was posted showing a drag queen stripper “entertaining” minors at Atrisco Heritage Academy’s prom in Albuquerque. The shockwaves immediately began, with many contacting the school’s principal, Irene Cisneros, with rage.

In response to the uproar following the video, Albuquerque Public Schools issued a statement on Wednesday, informing parents that an investigation into the incident is underway to determine how it was allowed to happen and the impact on students. The statement clarified that this issue is considered a personnel matter, and no further details were available at the time.

Now, according to a social media-shared email, Cisneros is no longer the principal. Albuquerque’s Chief of Schools, Channell Segura, wrote, “I want to inform you that Anthony Lovato has been appointed as the acting principal of Atrisco Heritage Academy.”

It remains to be seen who else was involved in having a drag queen stripper at the Academy's prom. It is surprising at how fast the Albuquerque Public Schools acted as they did in ousting the principal.

Firearms Disclosure Bill Introduced By CA Democrats

As months and years go by, there isn't a time where I regret moving out of California. It has become a one-party state run by insane Democrats. 

They have just introduced a bill that would force homeowners and renters to disclose about the firearms they own.

The Gateway Pundit reported:

For years, California Democrats have been hostile to gun owners. California Democrats frequently attempt to erode Second Amendment rights in the state.

A bill in the Democrat-controlled California State Assembly that was introduced on February 16th, would force homeowners and renters to disclose information about firearms they own. Assembly member Mike Gipson, and State Senator Catherine Blakespear are the two leading California Democrat lawmakers pushing this legislation.

Section 2086 will be an addition to the Insurance Code pertaining to AB-3067.

The questions include information as to the number of firearms in the home, the method of storage, and how many firearms are stored in vehicles on the property. The questions include whether or not the firearms are in locked containers or not.

If there is ever a reason to be grateful for moving out of Commiefornia, this one gets the grand prize!

Last year, the one-party state passed legislation making people's electric bills based on income rather than actual usage. Sounds like something out of a socialist/communist country, doesn't it?

A post in The Federalist blog today caught my attention. So I did some searching. It didn't take long.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

California governor Gavin Newsom is standing by the state’s soon-to-be-implemented "equitable" policy to base electricity bills on income, rather than usage, even as public and political opposition to the idea builds in the Democratic coalition.

A spokesman for the governor said on Tuesday that Newsom is looking forward to seeing a final proposal from the state's utilities commission "that is consistent with" the 2022 law that required the agency to devise an income-based billing system.

"California must combat climate change by rapidly expanding the use of clean electricity in our vehicles and buildings, while at the same time making it more affordable for low-income Californians," the spokesman said in a statement.

Newsom’s commitment to California’s income-based electricity billing plan followed a press conference by a group of Democratic lawmakers who want to reverse the policy, after they voted in its favor as part of a 2022 budget bill. Citing public outcry, they condemned the plan as another price hike for Californians’ astronomical energy bills that would punish conservation-minded households while also subjecting everyone to invasive income checks. 

See? This is what you get when a Marxist political party has total control of the state's government. They are using the excuse of "climate change" (which is total bullplop) as an excuse to impose this Marxist act.

If one thought that the federal legislature has gone completely insane, then they haven't seen what's in store during this year's New Mexico 30-day legislative session. The New Mexico legislature is far worse.

The Piñon Post has presented a list of horrors that the Democrats want to impose on New Mexico's citizens.

It begins with:

Starting Monday, radical leftist bills are being heard in legislative committees, including proposals to take Second Amendment rights away from law-abiding citizens, “diversity, equity, and inclusion” bills, and more.

On Saturday, the House Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee voted 7-4 along party lines to pass a “clean fuels standard” (H.B. 41) that will raise gas prices by 50 cents or more per gallon. 

On Monday at 8:30 a.m., the House Health and Human Services Committee (HHHSC) will consider H.B. 35 from Rep. Pamelya Herndon (D-Albuquerque) to create an “office of diversity, equity, and inclusion” at the University of New Mexico, which would cost the taxpayers $1.2 million annually.

The list goes on.

NM AG Torrez Declares War On Ammo

It is a sad fact of life that New Mexico's government is currently under the control of extremist left-wing anti-Second Amendment wackos. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is one and Attorney General Raul Torrez is another.

Torrez has banded together with other attorneys general of other states in declaring war on ammunition.

According to the Piñon Post:

In another extremist move, a coalition of Democrat attorneys general, including New Mexico’s Raúl Torrez, have issued a letter to the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, calling for an investigation into the sale of military-grade ammunition to civilians. 

The anti-ammo letter, signed by attorneys general from 20 states, including New York, California, and New Mexico, specifically addresses the manufacture and sale of “military-grade ammunition” at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. They want to ban it from civilian use. The group, led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, contends that the availability of such “high-powered” ammunition in civilian markets has contributed to the escalating severity of mass shootings across the country.  

However, this initiative has faced staunch opposition from gun rights supporters, arguing that a focus on banning specific types of ammunition is a misguided approach that infringes upon the rights of law-abiding citizens. The Second Amendment clearly protects the right to bear arms, which implicitly includes access to various types of ammunition for such arms.

MLG's Unhinged Rant Fact-Checked By Breitbart and NRA

It never ceases to amaze me at how such a total nincompoop as New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham ever got elected, much less getting re-elected despite her loony policies, living lavishly on the taxpayers' dime and her groping scandal.

The latest is her rants last Friday on the Second Amendment. She made such ridiculous statements that she got herself fact-checked by both the National Rifle Association and Breitbart News. They have been brought to us in living color by Piñon Post. 

She claimed that AR-15 rifles are "automatic weapons". They're not. They are semi-automatics. Big difference.

Piñon Post starts with:

On Friday, far-left Gov. Michelle Lujan (D-NM) Grisham said she would continue her attacks against the Second Amendment — going further to say no one in America should personally own an “automatic weapon” while appearing for an interview on MSNBC. 

She said, “Frankly, no one that isn’t in the military — this is a weapon of war — or, uh, the trained police department. In my view, no one in America who isn’t in one of those two situations should own an automatic weapon. There is no reason to own one of those…. There is no reason.”

She also said she is “looking at” legislation that died in the last legislative session to “go after gun manufacturers. This is an all-of-the-above approach. Every single thing. I want fewer firearms in the street, I want no more gun trafficking, I want people held accountable, and what happened to Mr. Wilson? Did he reach out for help at the school? I’m going to need to know that. Was there a missed opportunity for a red flag high-risk protection order?”

But after making the unhinged statements, she got brutally fact-checked by Breitbart News and the National Rifle Association (NRA). 

Some of the proposed legislation that failed during the recent legislative session was due to being obviously unconstitutional. She needs to take a hard look at recent Supreme Court decisions before shooting off her mouth.

This comes from someone who won't secure New Mexico's southern border, thereby allowing drug & human traffickers, illegals and criminals into the state.

CA Reparations Committee Wants Apology For Reagan's "Welfare Queen" Term

The Democrat Party, who has a stranglehold on California's state government, has sunk into a deeper abyss of stupidity with their "reparations task force".

Along with recommending paying millions to the state's blacks, they want a formal state apology for then-Gov. Ronald Reagan's coinage of  the term, "welfare queen". The term was used in relation to people who engaged in welfare fraud in the state.

California's reparations task force is calling on the Golden State to issue a formal apology for former Gov. Ronald Reagan coining the term "welfare queen" and for a disproportionately low number of Black Californians working as doctors and lawyers as part of a broader effort to make amends for slavery and racism.

The task force, which was created by state legislation signed by incumbent Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2020, formally approved over the weekend its final recommendations to the California Legislature, which will then decide whether to implement the measures and send them to the governor's desk to be signed into law.

Among the recommendations is for California to issue a formal apology enacted by the legislature and signed by the governor for slavery and anti-Black racism.

"The legislature must apologize on behalf of the state of California and the people of California for the perpetration of gross human rights violations and genocide of Africans who were enslaved and their descendants through public apology, requests for forgiveness, censure of state perpetrators, and tributes to victims," the task force writes in its proposal.

California never allowed slavery in its history, but pro-reparations advocates argue the state still worked to uphold the institution and discriminated in other ways against Black Americans.

Marilyn Monroe is under attack! Or at least the 26-foot statue in Palm Springs, California is. The statue, called “Forever Marilyn” that stands in front of the Palm Springs Art Museum and is the target of a group of woke nutjobs that call themselves the Committee to Relocate Marilyn. I think a better idea would be to relocate the wokesters, but I don’t get a say.

As if Civil War statues weren’t enough, Marilyn is going to get the cancel culture treatment if these people get their way. Check this out.  

Perhaps there are bigger fish to fry than a statue of Marilyn Monroe if you are truly concerned about objectifying women? Isn’t California the home state of the porn industry? Aren’t sneaky dudes still taking trophies from real female athletes and creeping their locker rooms? Thought so. Perhaps a statue should be on the back burner until some real work is done to protect women and women’s rights. Nah, of course not. It is much easier to rage against an inanimate object as opposed to a faker in a wig and lipstick. Much safer as well.

Here's two from today:

Why can’t they just be reasonable? Yesterday, Democrats passed a bill to put feminine hygiene products in boys’ public school bathrooms. Why not just in girls’ bathrooms? Because that would make too much sense! They ruined a good idea with nonsensical wokeness. Beyond words.

Given the crime situation in Albuquerque and other areas, maybe they feel that since tampons do come in handy to stop bleeding from bullet wounds, the boys can have access to them for this purpose?

Dems just killed my amendment to protect girls from having men in their locker rooms. Disgusting.

What do you expect from a party that is inhabited by insane people?
