Federal Law Banning Handgun Sales 18- to 20-year-olds Is Unconstitutional

Since 18 year olds are adults by law, then they should have all rights that goes along with it. 18 year olds as adults has been around since the early 1970s.

An appeals court has ruled that the federal law banning handgun sales to 18 to 20 year olds is unconstitutional.

CNN reported:

CNN - A conservative federal appeals court said Thursday that a federal law banning the sale of handguns to 18- to 20-year-olds is unconstitutional, elevating a significant question about the Second Amendment’s reach in the wake of recent major Supreme Court rulings on gun rights.

It is the latest major ruling against an age-based firearm restriction and one that comes as the Supreme Court has been asked to weigh in on how the Second Amendment applies to older teens.

The new ruling from the 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals pointed to the landmark 2022 Supreme Court ruling known as Bruen that established a historical test for assessing the constitutionality of gun restrictions. It also reviewed the legal challenge against the more recent decision by the Supreme Court that refined the Bruen test while upholding federal restrictions on gun possession for people accused of domestic abuse.

CNN Instant Poll: Trump Gained Voters

The above is astonishing, not that I doubt the numbers, but the source is from CNN of all places.

What I have been reading is that Kamala Harris was not believable and her answers were too vague. Some even likened her to being a "con artist."

No wonder Harris wants another debate with Trump. The former president likened this to a boxer who lost a match wanting a rematch.

Osaka: "The Kitchen of Japan"

Above, along with food, Osaka's Dotonbori has interesting restaurant signage to view. Photo by Armand Vaquer.
For those of you who are planning to travel to Japan and are foodies, the place to go to is Osaka.

Osaka's Dotonbori district is the city's food center. I last went there in 2015 and partook in Osaka's cuisine.

CNN has posted an article on Osaka being the "kitchen of Japan."

It begins with:

Osaka, Japan (CNN) - Let’s be honest. Osaka hasn’t got Tokyo’s mind-bending urban sprawl, where every turn opens up a world of adventure. Likewise, it lacks the historic temples, tree-covered hills and ancient history of Kyoto.

What it does have, though, are two of the biggest draws any visitor to Japan could ask for. The best food anywhere in the country. And the people, who are funky, fun and playful.

This is a place to come and eat, enjoy the odd local brew and take in a city where day-to-day pleasures come to the fore unlike anywhere else.

Food is practically a religion in Osaka, which is now anticipating the global spotlight as it gears up to host Expo 2025. It is known as the kitchen of Japan, and, for foodies, any tour of its myriad culinary delights must start in Dotonbori.

The Debate: First Impressions

Last night, I caught the presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and His Fraudulency Joe Bided that was sponsored by CNN. I watched it on New Mexico PBS.

Surprisingly, I thought the moderators (Dana Bash and Jake Tapper) were pretty even-handed. I didn't see anything to complain about.

The answers by both men were their standard campaign talking points. Both dished out the attacks pretty evenly.

But I did notice that when Biden came on stage, he was walking very feebly, almost shuffling. Trump was his usual robust self.

Oddly, the most heated exchange (most all were heated) was their talking about golf handicaps. It got pretty silly. Trump jumped in with, "Let's not get childish." Biden seemed to freeze on a question on Medicare.

Biden performed better than I expected but he still had trouble putting his thoughts together. Trump performed to expectations. Trump should have made a better final statement.

That's my initial impression of the debate.

Stopping At Tee Pee Trading Post

Above, arriving at the Tee Pee Trading Post in Lupton, Arizona yesterday. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Along the way to Williams, Arizona yesterday, I stopped in the Tee Pee Trading Post to pick up some cigars for the clampout.

While there, I chatted with one of the clerks and he said that they had to close and be evacuated when the derailment fire was raging.

According to CNN:

Evacuation orders were issued for residents within a two-mile radius of the derailment and fire along the New Mexico state line with Arizona, according to an update from BNSF Railway. All evacuations were lifted Sunday, according to a Facebook post from McKinley County Fire & Rescue.

All he heard when the explosion occurred was something like a muffled pop. The trading post was about a mile from the derailment.

This incident will be talked about for years to come.

Amelia Earhart's Plane In Sonar Image?

Above, Amelia Earhart and her Lockheed Electra.

One of the great mysteries of the first half of the 20th Century is what happened to famed aviator Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan.

Sonar images near Howland Island in the South Pacific may have located her airplane.

According to CNN:

CNN — One of the greatest enduring mysteries is the fate of beloved pilot Amelia Earhart.

Nearly 87 years after the famed aviator and her navigator, Fred Noonan, disappeared over the Pacific Ocean during an attempt to fly around the world, underwater archaeologists and other marine experts are still trying to unravel what happened.

The US government maintains that the aviation pioneer and Noonan crashed into the ocean after running out of fuel, but some believe the duo became castaways on an island or that Earhart was a spy whom the Japanese captured.

The record-breaking Earhart disappeared at the top of her game, becoming a trailblazing icon for women pilots.

And a recent find may add a new chapter to Earhart’s unfinished story.

Ocean secrets

A research team believes it has found Earhart’s twin-engine plane deep beneath the waves.

Ocean exploration company Deep Sea Vision sent an expedition to the Pacific Ocean between September and December. While using sonar imaging to map the seafloor with sound waves, a small aircraft-shaped anomaly appeared more than 16,000 feet (4,877 meters) down.

Hunter Biden's Plea Deal Reportedly Implodes

Above, Hunter Biden.

Despite the "sweetheart deal" that Hunter Biden was going to plead on, he was never really out of the legal woods.

Well, he's definitely back deep into the woods again as the plea deal imploded.

The Daily Caller reported:

Hunter Biden’s plea deal on tax misdemeanors charges is off, CNN reported Wednesday.

Biden had been expected to plead guilty to tax misdemeanor charges Wednesday in a Delaware court, entering a plea deal with the Department of Justice (DOJ) on the tax misdemeanor charges to avoid jail time on a separate gun charge.

The plea deal reportedly fell apart after the defense and prosecution did not agree on the scope of the immunity of coverage that Biden had, specifically if Biden would be covered from being charged on Foreign Agents Restoration Act (FARA) in the future.

This Morning In Gallup

Above, this morning at the El Rancho Hotel.

This morning was spent in Gallup.

First, I had an optometrist appointment. It had been four years since I was last examined. Everything came out fine, but I still need new glasses. One oddity, my distance vision actually improved. The optometrist says it is not unusual.

After that was over, I headed to the El Rancho Hotel for some huevos rancheros. They make excellent ones and I figured I'd treat myself for a plate.

When breakfast was over, I went to my mechanic's to set an appointment to bring the Jeep in. It will be going in next week.

Then, once I got home, I saw that Tucker Carlson and Fox News "parted ways". Not good. Then, CNN fired Don Lemon. Very good. It would be interesting if Carlson took over Lemon's job.

It may rain this afternoon. The rain clouds are moving in right now. We have a 20% chance of rain.

High Gas Prices: Part of the Liberal World Order

Biden says we'll have to pay high gas prices for "as long as it takes."

Then his advisor Brian Deese said on CNN, "This is about the Liberal World Order and we have to stand firm."

This is causing a firestorm, to put it mildly.

Newsweek, not exactly a bastion of conservative thought, posted:

President Joe Biden's adviser Brian Deese is facing a backlash online after answering a question on the fairness of high gas prices by highlighting the importance of the "liberal world order," and a video clip of the moment has since gone viral.

Deese was speaking to CNN's Victor Blackwell on Thursday and reflected on comments Joe Biden made during his speech at the NATO summit in Madrid on the same day.

Biden was asked by a reporter: "How long is it fair to expect American drivers and drivers around the world to pay that premium for this war?"

The president replied: "As long as it takes," insisting that Russia could not be allowed to win the conflict against Ukraine and then potentially menace other nations.

Deese and Biden have been ridiculed on Twitter over the clip.

"The Biden administration cares more about the liberal world order than American families," Former White House Director of Strategic Communications Mercedes Schlapp tweeted.

"The 'Liberal World Order' we need to wake up and realize what we really are up against. Biden is nothing more than a puppet for the radical left," Fox News contributor Sara A. Carter tweeted.

"Is Brian Dese a Republican plant? Because this is the easiest midterm ad content I've ever seen," Republican communicator Matt Whitlock tweeted.

Biden's Gas Premium: Pay "As Long As It Takes"

If this is for real, the people in the Biden Administration are absolutely nuts!

Well, assuming it is real, it is more proof that they want us to jettison our gasoline vehicles and buy some crappy electric cars, all intentional.

We need to throw all of them out of office come November.

Well, since CNN broadcast it, we'll have to take the loons at their word. Right?

"Fredo" Cuomo Suspended "Indefinitely" From CNN

CNN anchor Chris "Fredo" Cuomo was suspended "indefinitely" from CNN as evidence came to light showing that he was working with his brother to dig information on sexual assault victims.

According to the Daily Caller:

CNN announced Tuesday that Chris Cuomo would be suspended “indefinitely” following bombshell evidence that he worked closely with his brother, disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, amid allegations of sexual assault.

“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” a CNN spokesperson said Tuesday, according to CNN. “The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James released Monday a transcript detailing that Chris Cuomo was involved in what appeared to be a cover-up in his brother’s sexual assault case.

The documents show Chris Cuomo used his contacts in the media to get more information about his brother’s accusers and appeared to work with then-top aid Melissa DeRosa about preparing responses for his brother.

Actually, Cuomo should resign or be fired.

"Fredo, you broke my heart!"

Biden On Gas Prices: "Don't Have A Near-Term Answer"

Above, a gas pump at the Jamestown, New Mexico Flying J. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

A year ago, the country was energy self-efficient and prices of gasoline were down.

Now, everything is in chaos. His Fraudulency Joe Biden cancelled the Keystone Pipeline, preferring instead to have oil trucked. Never mind that there's a truck driver shortage. Biden suspended new oil and gas leasing and drilling permits on federal land and water. Now we have to rely more on OPEC for oil, whose prices on oil affects gasoline prices.

During a townhall on CNN (Counterfeit News Network), Biden admits he has no answers.

From the New York Post:

President Biden admitted during a CNN town hall Thursday night that he has no immediate solution to the problem of spiking gas prices and suggested that Americans would not start seeing relief at the pump until next year.

“My guess is, you’ll start to see gas prices come down as we get by and going into the winter – I mean, excuse me, into next year, 2022,” the president told moderator Anderson Cooper at the Baltimore event.

“I don’t see anything that’s going to happen in the meantime that’s going to significantly reduce gas prices.

“I must tell you, I don’t have a near-term answer,” Biden added before musing on the possibility that he could “go in the [Strategic] Petroleum Reserve and take out and probably reduce the price of gas maybe 18 cents or so per gallon, [but] it’s still gonna be above three bucks.”

NRA-ILA: Biden Reiterates Call to Ban 9mm Handguns

The so-called "fact-checkers" in social media are trying to protect His Fraudulency by saying he didn't call for a ban on 9mm pistols.

But real facts are stubborn things. Biden did call for a ban on 9mm handguns the other day during his CNN "town hall" broadcast. And it wasn't the first time either.

According to NRA-ILA:

During a July 21 CNN “presidential town hall,” Joe Biden expressed his support for a ban on commonly-owned handguns. Responding to a question about the recent increase in violent crime, the career politician stated,

I'm the only guy that ever got passed legislation, when I was a senator, to make sure we eliminated assault weapons. The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether -- whether it's a 9-millimeter pistol or whether it's a rifle, is ridiculous. I'm continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things.

Of course, any semi-automatic firearm capable of accepting a detachable magazine has the “ability to fire” in the manner Biden deemed objectionable. Therefore, the seasoned grandstander’s statement was a call to ban all semi-automatic handguns, rifles, and shotguns capable of accepting a detachable magazine.

This wasn’t the first time Biden advocated for such a wide-ranging gun ban.

A November 2019 article in the Seattle Times chronicled Biden’s attendance at a pair of high-dollar private fundraisers in the Emerald City. While speaking to attendees at one of the soirees, Biden reportedly asked attendees, “Why should we allow people to have military-style weapons including pistols with 9mm bullets and can hold 10 or more rounds?” Biden also shared his tired claim that because there is a shot-shell restriction for migratory bird hunting, “We protect geese from Canada more than we do people.”

CNN Propaganda Outed By Project Veritas

This really doesn't come as much as a surprise. Anyone with any smarts knows that CNN is just a propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.

Project Veritas caught a CNN technical director admitting that they spew propaganda and were bent on getting Donald Trump out of office.

The Daily Mail reported:

A CNN employee has been caught describing the network's tactics as 'propaganda' in hidden camera footage released by Project Veritas.

CNN technical director Charlie Chester was caught in the embarrassing footage after a woman working with the conservative watchdog group spotted him on Tinder, where he listed his employer, Mediaite reported.

'Look what we did, we  got Trump out. I am 100 percent going to say it, and I 100 percent believe that if it wasn't for CNN, I don't know that Trump would have got voted out,' Chester said in the video. 'I came to CNN because I wanted to be a part of that.'

'Like our focus was to get Trump out of office, right? Without saying it, that's what it was, right? So, our next thing is going to be climate change awareness,' Chester said in another clip.
