The Vindictive Kamala Harris

California U.S. Senator Kamala Harris is allegedly on Joe Biden's "short list" of potential running mates. Actor James Woods refers to her as "Heels-up Harris" for sleeping her way to the top.

I have known for years that Harris is a wacko leftist and a very vindictive one (from first-hand reports from people I know who have had dealings with her professionally).

Here's something that should give everyone pause and concern (if true):

"Red Flag" Gun Confiscation "SWATing"

Three years ago, I was served with a restraining order by a vengeful ex-fiancee in California. She claimed that I was "stalking" her, but in actuality I broke off the relationship and was actually avoiding her (I instituted "no contact"). This was in "revenge" for this and due to an impending Small Claims lawsuit I was filing against her (that was settled on the court show, Hot Bench).

In 2014, California passed a "Gun Violence Restraining Order Law". This was the law that affected my case. Until this matter, I never heard of such a thing as this. I had to surrender my guns to either the police or to a licensed gun dealer until the court hearing dismissed it (I had more than adequate proof that I wasn't doing the stalking, she was).

Now, New Mexico passed a similar "red flag" law and is about to be signed by the governor.

Of all of the gun bills passed by New Mexico's radical liberal majority, the "red flag" legislation is the most insidious.

Gun confiscation SWATing, Extreme risk protective orders or so-call ‘Red Flag’ Laws are all the rage of the Liberty grabber Left and RINO’s these days. It’s bad enough that these unnecessary and unconstitutional violations of everyone’s due process rights are being ‘Rahmed’ through on a state level. But both the US House and Senate have their own versions. The latter co-sponsored by Senator Marco ‘RINO’ Rubio (R-FL) with the Senate Judiciary Committee to hold hearings on March 26. 

In a case of trying to solve a rare but emotionally charged problem, these will only serve to create an even bigger problem destroying several civil and human rights in the process. We’ve already established that this type of legislation is unnecessary since Involuntary Civil Commitment laws that protect due process rights are already on the books. Thus we have woefully unconstitutional gun confiscation coupled with and evisceration of due process rights. It’s enough to have any tyrant glow with pride.

Also, of interest to me, they discuss the abuse of such laws to "settle a score" as my ex did to me.

There is the danger that someone could use these SWATing orders to ‘settle a score’ with someone – even if they don’t own a gun. In fact, it could be worse for the person in that situation since law enforcement would be incentivized to become more intense in searching for something that doesn’t exist. What is there to stop someone from using the threat of bringing one of these down on someone as a form of extortion?

One Way (2006)

My cousin gave me a bunch of DVDs last week and I watched another one of them.

Tonight, I watched a movie called One Way (2006), a story about big business, rape, blackmail and revenge.

The summary per IMDB is:

In New York, the competent creative director of Birk Advertising Eddie Shneider is living a successful moment of his professional life and is engaged and has just proposed Judy Birk, the daughter of the owner of the company where he works. Eddie is also a wolf and very successful with many women, and is having an affair with a neighbor of the street where he lives with Judy. When he gets the account of the greatest American airline for his company, he is promoted to partner and he celebrates with his assistant and friend Angelina Sable in a lunch party in a restaurant. After hours, when they are in the garage, Angeline notes that she had forgotten her car keys in the office, and when she returns, she is violently raped by the despicable brother of Judy, Anthony Birk. On the next morning, when Eddie arrives in the garage, he finds the traumatized Angeline on the floor and he takes her to a hospital. He returns to the company and Anthony blackmails Eddie with pictures of his many affairs. Eddie has to take a side between his career and engagement and his friendship with Angeline.

I had never heard of this movie before, but I thought I'd give it a try and was kept spellbound by the story. The summary doesn't mention that the Angeline character has a mysterious black army general as her "guardian angel." He kind of reminds me of the Clint Eastwood characters in High Plains Drifter (1973) and Pale Rider (1985).

The story has a prologue on the young Angeline and then it moves forward to present day New York City (actually Toronto).

The movie stars Til Schweiger as Eddie Shneider, Lauren Lee Smith as Angelina Sable, Sebastien Roberts as Anthony Birk, Stefanie von Pfetten as Judy Birk and Michael Clarke Duncan as The General. Smith is more well-known for the television program CSI: Las Vegas.

This German production was written and directed by Reto Salimbeni.
