For those who are train buffs and want to tour around Japan, this may be the thing for you.
The Yomiuri Shimbun reported:
East Japan Railway Co. plans to introduce a luxury sleeper train that will take passengers on a multi-day trip around Japan, according to the company.
The train, whose interior will be luxuriously furnished, will cost about 5 billion yen per 10-car train, more than the 10-car E5 series Shinkansen train, JR East said Tuesday.
JR East hopes to launch the service in or after spring 2016.
It will be the first cruise sleeper train operated by JR East. Targeting elderly people and foreign visitors, the company plans to offer two- or three-night trips, according to the season or theme of the trip.It sounds interesting, but the price for the trip is expected to be "hundreds of thousands of yen per person." That may not work too well for people on Social Security. We'll have to wait and see what is finally decided on.
