Roswell UFO Festival - Day One

Above, before heading out for the festival, I had to catch up on the news. Photo by Jess.

Today (at least 4 1/2 hours) was spent wandering around the UFO Festival.

Main Street was closed off to traffic and vendors set up booths to sell food and merchandise.

While waiting for our taxi to arrive in front of the Trailer Village RV Park, we spotted this bumper sticker on a motorhome:

My idea to tour the UFO Museum yesterday paid off as there was a long line of people waiting to get in:

Here's some photos of the vendors on Main Street (the first one was during set-up):

At a plaza off Main Street, I spotted this big statue of John Chism (he doesn't look anything like John Wayne), "The Cattle King of the Pecos":

One of Roswell's sanitation trucks was parked on the street (the logo was on the door):

Naturally, at a UFO Festival, one must pose with aliens (this was at the Roswell Visitor Center):

One vendor had some interesting signs for sale:

We had a good time today. We're looking forward to heading out again tomorrow.
