I'm pretty sure President Reagan would never have let things deteriorate to the point where Russia would have felt the need to move into Ukraine. He would have built up trust between the nations and their leaders while maintaining America's deterrent strength. He would have worked to help Russia's economy become stronger and more integrated with the west, while at the same time continuing his successful efforts at reducing the threat of nuclear weapons. Ronnie was that rare thing, a politician that could see and work toward the long term good, and not be preoccupied with his short term re-election prospects. If any of Clinton, Bush, or Obama had half of Ronnie's wisdom, brains, and character, we'd be living in a much different and much better/safer world.
