Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial

Above, this year's program cover.

The 97th Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial started yesterday.

Most of the events are at Red Rock Park.

What is the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial?

According to the Navajo People website:
The Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial is the longest-running, continuous event In the State of New Mexico. Home to the oldest Native American Art Show in the country. Parades, Dances, Art Demonstrations, Native Foods, Rodeos, Pow-Wow, Song & Dance, Night Dance Performances, Pageants, Vendors. Founded on April 15, 1921.

I was looking forward to this event, but I am still a bit below par from my heart attack of last week. I will try to attend some events next week (the Ceremonial runs through August 12). Hopefully, I will feel better and stronger by then. It is probably best that I err on the side of caution for a bit.

The official website is here.
