Fox News has issued an apology for using a photo of singer Patti LaBelle in their Aretha Franklin tribute following the news of Franklin’s death on Thursday.
“We sincerely apologize to Aretha Franklin’s family and friends,” Fox News Vice President, Media Desk Jessica Santostefano said in a statement given to PEOPLE.
Users in social media have been having fun with this story by posting Aretha Frankin "memorial" photos with different people including Oprah, Whoopie Goldberg, "Aunt Esther" from Sanford and Son and others.
