Following the Golden Week holidays in Japan, the first trading day has the U.S. dollar up against the Japanese yen in Tokyo.
According to Jiji Press:
Tokyo, May 7 (Jiji Press)--The dollar moved around 99 yen in Tokyo trading on Tuesday, following a sharp rise overseas during the four-day weekend in Japan, lifted by unexpectedly strong U.S. jobs data.At the end of the trading day, the dollar stood at 99.06-14 yen.
