Above, a shot of one of my comic book yard sales from last year. |
This coming Saturday is National Free Comic Book Day.
Participating comic book dealers give away free comic books to people who stop in. This is to "spread the gospel" of the joys of comic book reading.
From FreeComicBookDay.com:
Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores. *Check with your local comic book shop for their participation and rules.
For more information, plus videos (one even features actor Hugh Jackman), go here. The site also has a store locator of participating stores.
Speaking of comic books, as we are headed into the summer months, I will probably start selling comics from my collection again via yard sales. Keep watch at this blog for future announcements.
