Everyone's heard that Japan is an expensive place to visit. In some cases it can be. In some cases it is actually cheaper than the U.S. Overall, I found it no more expensive than traveling around the United States.
Gaijinpot.com has an article that will put to rest that Japan is too expensive. In fact, they contend that Japan is a "budget traveler's dream."
