The following is not at all surprising as neighboring Grand Teton National Park was directly in the path of the August 21 solar eclipse.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported:
Yellowstone National Park recorded last month its busiest August on record.
Park officials tallied 916,166 visits last month, marking the first time the month surpassed 900,000 visits in the park’s history. It’s almost a 9 percent increase over the total in August 2016.
