High Wind Warning



It was a good thing I went to bed early last night, because of high winds outside, I was awakened at 1:00 this morning.

The winds are strong and the noise has been loud from the nearby trees and a roof vent cover. It looks like I'll be catnapping here and there during the day.

According to the National Weather Service, we're under a High Wind Warning:

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM MDT THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* WHERE...Chuska Mountains, Northwest Plateau, West Central
  Mountains and West Central Plateau.

* WHEN...Until 3 PM MDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult,
  especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of blowing dust may significantly
  reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take action to secure trash cans, lawn furniture, and other loose or
lightweight outdoor objects. Extremely hazardous driving conditions
can be expected, especially for motorists in high profile vehicles
who should consider delaying travel.
