Now that the snows have stopped (for the most part), I went out and shoveled the walkways.
This snow seemed more like what we're used to. It wasn't as heavy as the previous snows we've had this season. It is probably from a lesser moisture content.
It is about 40° outside.

In any case, I got the walkways shoveled. The snow must have a high moisture content as it was heavy than what we usually get here. That has been the case with the other recent storms.
As I am writing this, snow showers have started. Hopefully, they won't undo the shoveling I did.
After I finished, I poured myself a cup of coffee to warm up and then went out and took a few photos.

For the third time in two days, I had to do some snow-shoveling of the walkways.
After I shoveled the first time yesterday, more snow fell in the late afternoon/early evening. I had to shovel it before it turned to ice. I fell over a week ago by slipping on a thin layer of black ice between the house and the garage. I didn't want a repeat performance, so I shoveled it again.
Apparently, more snow fell and the walkways needed shoveling again. The snow is sticking, aided by a current 25° temperature.
I was expecting two deliveries today, so I shoveled the walkways again today. I apparently did so just in time as the packages were delivered within 45 minutes after I was done.
Such is life out in the country during winter.

Earlier this morning, I blogged about last night's snow being (from what I could see) around two to three inches.
I just finished shoveling the walkways and the snow depth was more like five inches. It was heavy as well. It probably had a higher moisture content than what we're used to in New Mexico.
According to my Weather Channel app, we're probably going to get some more snow this afternoon and that will be the end of it. For now.

A while ago, I finished shoveling the walkways and the driveway in front of the garage.
This snow must've had a higher moisture content as it was heavier than the snows we get in Jamestown, New Mexico. It left me a bit winded.
The snow was about six inches deep, which is more than what we usually get here. Well, we can use the water here even though we had a wetter than usual year last year.
Of course, I took a few pictures before heading into the house. It was about 27° outside.
The roads are still covered with snow and ice. Hopefully, it'll thaw out in a couple of hours enough to go to the Flying J to get my mail and, maybe, head into Gallup to pick up a few grocery items.

This morning, before heading to Denny's at the Flying J with the gang (yes, we brave souls went to coffee and breakfast there), I shoveled the driveway and walkways...twice! I first shoveled before putting the trash container at the road. Then about 15 minutes later, I looked out and it looked like I hadn't done any shoveling at all.
So, I shoveled the walkways again before I was picked up by Greg Lucier.
At Denny's, it was the general consensus of the group that we received a cumulative 8" of snow since the start of the first storm. Much of it settled, melted or was blown by high winds. There's still about 2" to 3" of it on the ground.
While at the Flying J, we were able to get our mail.
We should be getting about a two-day break from the snowstorms until about Friday.
Before the snow on the walkways and driveway turns to ice, I figured I'd better do some snow shoveling.
The snow was nice and soft, so it made the task at hand much easier. While I was out shoveling, I noticed that the road was still covered with snow. Hopefully, it will thaw out before too long. But it will be a wait as it is around 20° outside.
While I was out shoveling, I took some photos.
Last evening and night, we got around 3 inches of snow.
I had to shovel the deck and deck steps and some of the walkways and garage ramp a bit. Thankfully, most of the walkways were already thawed and cleared of snow so I didn't have to shovel as much.
The wind made it colder than the 25° temperature.
But I pressed ahead and did the shoveling work. And, of course, I took a few pictures:
Earlier this morning, I saw D.K. snoozing on the front porch and snapped a picture of her:
It was lightly snowing when I went outside a little while ago to shovel last night's snow.
The sun was out and probably some of the snow will be gone in a few hours. It is best to shovel it before it can turn to ice.
It was reported by neighbors that Interstate 40 from Jamestown to Gallup is icy. Good thing I've no need to go into Gallup (I took care of that yesterday).

Finally, with some sunlight and a nice tropical 9° outside, I went out to shovel the walkways and the driveway immediately in front of the garage.
The snow wasn't that deep, maybe about 2" in some areas, but since it is so cold out, much of it turned icy. That made shoveling harder to do. But it is still better to something than to do nothing. The walkways and driveway still has a layer of ice. I have to be careful to not slip on it.
The forecast has today's high at about 27°. Still below freezing.
One nice thing, a few months ago I received some gloves made of some synthetic material from some charity group. Those actually kept my fingers warmer than the leather gloves I normally use.
It's funny, there's not a cloud in the sky, but it is still cold out. It would be a nice day if it were warmer.

Up to about an hour ago, it had been snowing outside, adding about a quarter inch to what was on the ground from last night.
So, I went out and did some more snow shoveling. I was able to get it done in about fifteen minutes. With the sun being out, it made the task a little easier. It is 21° outside.

In general, the deepness was about four to six inches with some areas up to eight inches deep, particularly on the ramp up to the garage.
Roger, one of my friends a mile up the hill, reported he had 10" of snow on his property.
While I was nearly done shoveling, it began to snow again.
